Planting your explosives and making a mad dash back to the flight deck before the enemy cruiser is obliterated. This could be the coolest thing ever.

Hell man, imagine running a Light Assault unit like
The Mobile Infantry out of one of these!
Our Outfit leader may be obsessed with Galaxy Drops, but Troops raining down from one of these is what comes to mind with the phrase "On the Bounce"...
...Just hope we'll be able to land a Galaxy on it though...

I don't want the ground war, and my upped vanguard along with it, to become completely outdated. I am having vivd images of a behemoth overhead absolutely crushing a mid-large sized battle with nothing the enemy can do it about it. This is kinda what I am imagining...
...I shoot my AP tank shells at it, having no time or need to aim as it slowly and inexorably inches forward. The light from the sun fades behind its mass. The main batteries open up and after a few brief flashes nothing but smoking ruins remain of our 60 strong NC armor column. Smoke rises from the burnt out hulls darkening the sky further and limiting visibility. Bodies are strewn about the hill face. My lone tank, hulldown on the cliff continues to fire defiantly. My cannon blasts again, the shell bounces off its front armor having no effect. As the behemoth passes directly above my vanguard its main gun flashes again...

Well it does have two "belly howitzer" turrets, but keep in mind that this is suppose to be the Terrain Republic model, which is the "Lightest armed" of the three factions Capital ships...
...So yeah, at least you don't have to face whatever blue monstrosity the NC will roll out.
Still, it looks like those pads, the "Graviton Drive Assembly", would be this things Achilles heel; an exposed propulsion system located on the bottom and literally shaped like targets.
With all those air counter-measures, I wouldn't be surprised if sniping them with a Tank wouldn't be the preferred method for taking one of these down...
...Of course that just makes me wonder how such damage would affect the craft; would it just fly worse over all or would taking out specific Repulsors cause the ship to list and eventually flip over?

Obviously its a concept, it can end up being a glorified loadstar by the time it enters game or an intercontinental base over water. It is way too early to be saying anything.

Yeah, as an early piece of concept work we don't know what the final product will look like...
...Still, I'd rather have separate vehicle for the Loadstar and this as a mobile Air Base.
