I like that Cloak is balanced, if you watch for them, your fine. If you get DL, your fine. If you have a good riffle (IE: are not using the phonix, or sniper), your fine. (cant tell you how many times ive died to a cloaker when driving my phonix )

I've tried out cloaking and it is by far the hardest thing to do properly in this game.
Every time one of them nails me I don't get mad, I just secretly congratulate the guy on a fine kill. Cloakers are easy meat in this game if you know what to look for. Also keep your ears open, because if you hear footsteps and they aren't yours back into a corner and start filling the room with lead or plasma. Good cloakers never give you a reason to suspect their presence. If they do they're already dead. |

The ideal cloaker has an audio amplifier implant, a Darklight implant, and a silent run implant. all of these would help him evade enemies, because you can't depend on just cloaking to keep you in one piece. adv hacking and combat eng helps with other duties, such as demolition and hacking. wraith gets you in and out. so the best outfitted cloaker is a very high level player, but he needs patience and skill to outwit defenders.

Audio amp/silent run...truly useless on a spy. If you have any skill or at least any brains then you can get by without these easy. The best outfitted cloaker is not a high level player. By BR 11 they have all they need and BR 6 if you do not include hacking.

cloaking does take skill, for those of u dont think so then ur idiots and u can STFU. all u have is a pistol and a knife for weapons. and u can hold like only 4 things in ur inventory. i had a cloaker in beta and i plan on having one when in retail. i had a lot of fun cloaking. all i i did was knife peeps. once i hit BR6 i got melee booster it helps. but it takes skill to get past spitfires, MAXES and regualr peeps. ur armor is limited and when ur discovers ur screwd. that all i have to say.

Theres just different levels of stealthing... I think i can cloak with the best of 'em at BR6. But at higher levels doesn't mean you're better. Just means you have more tools. I would never use DL. If i had 3 implants. I'd also change them depending on availability and situation. Some, maybe most situations i'd like to have surge/aa/melee. But if i do come across a really good stealth darklighter. Then, i got no issues with using DL to counter. At BR11... i think that where to get two implants. I remember in beta trying out many two cert combos. It's all situational. Which IMO is the hard thing to focus on inthe hea of battle. There's certain situations you know can't deal with. But ego and the repetitive nature of habit keep you pressing forward and perhaps too fast. Causing you to make mistakes. A solid cloaker needs only his suit. However, if he has more things available to him then things are just easier.
The thing i learned most from cloaking... how to catch them. I'm so confident im my ability to catch them, that i'm sure only absolute best ones will continue to evade and elude me. But really, to do that i know exactly what it takes. And i dont think i'd have as much fun playing that way. Cuz then its more of a patience issue. So if are having a hard time with cloakers. It's cuz you dont have clue. Cloaker are almost playing a totally different game. |
