Update: ever since the patch early this morning (which included a new planetside.exe) I've been having some odd jerking problems even with foliage completely off and I've been CTDing for the first time ever in situations where I was once rock-solid.

It seems erratic and tied to local population, though. We'll have to see if it persists.

This is complete and utter nonsense. I'm not an unreasonable gamer.

I can take visual lag.
I can take bugs.
I can take disconnections.
I can take maybe even take a game lockup that can be ACDed.

But I shouldn't be forced to hit the GD reset button on my f@$%@ machine because of moron programmers. Fix this bug...and fix this bug now. What's the point of playing if at any given moment, you can be totally locked? At least when I play checkers at yahoo.com, I don't have that problem. The original poster had it right, this is a critical problem.

My opinion of SOE is getting lower upon every lockup, and at this rate it's once per hour.

I share your anger people, i always lagged in big battles with my "low" machine(256 PC2100 and a GF2MX400). But since yesterday i can barely play in any battle. No shit i actually have to wait about 10 secs when entering a base's SoI before i unfreeze and another 10 secs after that before i'm lag free (that's if the fighting is inside, if there's a lot of fighting outside forget it).

And i got lock up and lock up last nite, had to finally just shut the PC and go to bed. Can you imagine?!?! I went to bed dammit!!
