Race?

I'm thinking of planning a multi-continent race which would allow many vehicle types. So far we're considering doing some more planning like a route and rules. The vehicles allowed would most likely be Harassers and Marauders(this is a TR Emerald plan) and you could have any position filled. FF will be allowed somewhat(as long as you're still trying to race) so to enmforce the rules and protect the racers we'd like some escorts. Reavers mainly is what I'd assume. I'd like there to be people at each "checkpoint"(places we'll plan if we have enough people willing to participate) and we could have some people taking screens or whatever. Any comments or suggestions or do you want to participate?

I would, but I am VS on emerald. Maybe I'll get ot shoot one of the contestants though.

Sounds interesting. Although you may want to make it only one vehicle type, like the harrasser woudl be good, that way there wouldn't be nade launcehrs everywhere

It would be interesting to have the havoc of fighting. It's your GPs if you want to take a Marauder and shoot at a couple then go ahead. Mines would be funny as hell though. The leader, about to win then gets owned by a mine.


Edit: Well, if enough people show an interest I can get planning it with help from people. When I get on IRC direct any questions you have about it to me. We'll set up the massive rally race(Possibly across the entire world of PS) and probably start in Ceryshen or Ishundar for obvious reasons. I hope I can get a good amount of people willing to join. I'll post something soon on the official boards. Then, when we get enough people I'll finalize everything and we can set a date. Maybe this will be a nice test for AGN too

I suggest you give the details and route via the IRC just before the race begins.... so that a bunch of combat engineers and reaver pilots don't sabotoge your race.

I planned on it. Hopefully there'll be a large number of racers and a good amount of "referees"

Ceryshen's almost always TR locked on Emerald and with that terrain, it would make one sweet racetrack

What fun is it if the continent is locked? I say, make them do a death race tour through enemy locked continets. That wouls be something to see.

This is a cool idea. Too bad your not NC because if you where id race (there is no way id ever become a terran). There should also be like an offroading thing where in a 10 person squad, the leader sets a waypoint and the other 9 racers have to race to it in anyway possible: obviously the first one there wins.

this should also been done with basilisks, with shooting NOT allowed.

a reaver should also be patrolling above taking screens and making sure no one is shooting.

This would actually be fun but reality is: IT WILL BE EXTREMELY HARD TO COORDINATE!

so sputty the racers can attack each other. and what if someone is killed when they re-spawn are they out the race. and i think the refs should be able to treat the racers medically and repair vehicles that r hit or hit something.

Because a lot less people have Wraiths and it would be a pain to find them all or a pain to have a lot of people unlearn the basilisk for a wraith.

Remember, I plan on going through almost everyone continent, but I just start at a continent locked TR one to make it easier. Most likely. we'll allow shooting but if someone gets out of hand the Reaver will teach him a lesson. The race will be Harassers or Marauders(I plan on this so the driver and a navigator can join) and if the race becomes massively one sided for Harassers the frist Marauder that gets across is the winner or the Marauder.
