hi, first time poster but long time lurker
roads? are there any and if so does anyone use them, are they faster than offroad? im planning on a combat eng cert so mining the road would be nice. um also will a mine/boomer take out light buggies or tanks how many does it take? second, can you jump onto vehicles? as in ride on top? both enemy and friendly or do u get instant run over from below (like halo) thinking this as an infil to plant boomers on tanks. so yeah next question, can u place boomers on vehicles? plasma grenades, do they stick to things or just the 'fire' stick to them, in which case can u hurt vehicles with them? does the amp/repeater/ non laser weapons have muzzle flash and if any dont which ones, i.e. can a good infil pistol snipe without being spotted? last question what is the prerequirements for antivehicle cert? thnaks in advance, lots of questions :P |

Lotsa questions, but here are the answers:
Heavy vehicles usually have to stay on the road cause the terrain isn't very good for them. There are no sticky grenades, but they can be thrown at vehicles. greandes, however, don't do much damage against vehicles. Mines are very good, and they can be placed all over road so that one mine field can take out a few vehicles. People can get on top of vehicles but they fall off as soon as the vehicle moves. There is no 'muzzle flash' but all weapons fire like tracers, so it is possible to see where the bullets come from. Infils are incapable of sniping, becuase they only carry pistols. You have two choices - using the pistol and using the knife. I use a pistol when there is only one or two people in the vicinity, but I use a knife when there are a bunch of people around. The knife doesn't make a sound and most don't even know how they are getting hit until it is too late. |

Well if your going NC for an infil pistol I wouldn't use one the NC has a great combat knife and there hand held shotgun thingy is only useful at crazy close ranges. If your going TR use the repeater its a great gun that can do damage over ranges. VS I don't know there gun has bright flash and so do there knives.

I find that fragmentation grenades do pretty well against vehicles -- you won't want to take out tanks with em, but against lighter vehicles they can do the job (if you carry enough ). Plasma grenades are probably the "sticky" grenades you are thinking of, but those don't do jack against armored targets -- they are however great for taking down infantry. Just to clarify, the grenade itself doesn't stick, but the plasma from the explosion will stick to whoever is in the area (including you!). This leaves a telltale green "smoke" effect, particularly nice for ferreting out cloakers |

Roads are useful to travel on because of the random rough terrain u can encouter (ditches, big hills, rocks, etc.) and about mining roads its a great idea to do, lots travel along and those mines DO HURT, sure one or two wont do it, but does make them say ouch. You can stand on a vehicle as long as it doesn't go anywhere but up or down (i.e. reaver surfing ). Boomers = only ground. Plasma only deals damage over a short time, no sticking. No muzzle flashes, but u can see their bullets and the color tells what team it is, also when you get damaged it tells you which direction it came from, so no sitting there popping a guy and he look around like WTF and not know where it came from. To get Anti-Vehicle guns, you need the Medium Assault Cert.

the NC shotgun pistol is nice. i've stockpiled a whole bunch of them in my locker for infil times. walk up behind someone, put the tip in the back of thier head and blam blam blam blam they are dead. 4-5 shots. the amp is decent but the COF gets huge VERY fast. i picked up a repeater last night but only got to kill a few guys before a DV guy caught me so i can't say either way on that one. it seems decent, more damage then the amp but slower rate of fire.
as for the knives, i imagine that they are all the same damage wise. combat cert + second mode on knife = 3hit kills on reinforced. not bad but it can get pretty wild if the guy starts running around. i usually use amp or scatter pistol seems faster then the knife. if i knife then 1 or 2 hits with knife then finish with pistol when they are running around looking for you. |
