I just noticed that we have 2 forum members with extremely similar names: BlackHawk and BlackHawkX.

The gun kata treats the gun as a total weapon, each fluid position representing a maximum kill zone, inflicting maximum damage on the maximum number of opponents while keeping the defender clear of the statistically traditional trajectories of return fire. By the rote mastery of this art, your firing efficiency will rise by no less than 120%. The difference of a 63% increase to lethal proficiency makes the master of the gun katas an adversary not to be taken lightly.

I concur, though I used the name in Tribes way before the movie came out.

I think there might have been a type of helicopter that had that name before the movie.

If I remember it correctly, not all the soldiers died. They were rescued eventually...

Post Just to fill you all in

Just to let you all know(from an ex-military prospective). The Story behind the movie was very sad. We did loose quite a few good men in that little extracation of the Somalian people. They were being wronged by their dictator, Who was controlling all the food and arms in the area. He was rulling by starvation. A starving people can't overthrough you if they are all dead and forced to love you to get food. If you weren't on the dictators side you starved or were killed by his militia. The militia even went as far as to use kids and women as shields and armed them so we would have to kill them or die. If we shoot a women or child, then we look bad. So that was the reason for the "do not fire, unless fired upon". So we would have to hold fire until it was made obvious, by someone being shot, that we were under fire. They took down 2 of our BlackHawk choppers, so "noone gets left behind" kicked in. So we had to move in troops to get to the crash sites and get the down personnel out. So many of our Soldiers died that day due to the fact that the militia had the sworms of women and children in the rioting crowds. Most of the wonded were evact out and the pow's rescued after the fact, but we did lose a few during the mission.

Also on a side note there is a military chopper called the BlackHawk. It is a fast attack troop transport. It has replaced the huie chopper of Vietnam. It has duel turbine engines, fast repel ropes, and duel mounted 30 mm(i believe) belt fed chainguns. The guns can also be replaced with other machine guns, i.e m-60 belt fed 7.62mm machinegun.

And finally there is also a Native American Tribe that was named BlackHawks. I don't know much about them. Just know that there was and may still be.
