The lag. Graphical, mostly. They need to figure out a way to render only what's onscreen so I don't chop when there's 100 people onscreen.
Sigh, maybe in another 10 years.

The fact that I can't have every cert all the time.
No, really. The worst part for me is the lack of platoons. I think this would add SO MUCH more organization to the game with concerted strikes coming from two different directions on a base or an air attack to clear a base on the top and 2-3 galaxy's dropping 30 troops in on a base to clean out the inside. Now, THAT sounds like a strategic war game! |

That would DEFINITELY be sweet!
Does anyone know the details of the platoons yet? How many squads to make up one platoon? Also, are there going to be any formations higher than platoons? Something like a "Regiment" - the combination of 3 platoons? Just a question and a thought... |

i would like to see more big battles, on monday, there was a massive 100 player battle at Acan on Hossin on moday morning.
there hasn't been any major battles since then. also you often have to wait ages for the HART to drop you off, it should be 3 mintes MAX, on 8 or 9 like it is at the moment. |

I agree that the HART takes too long, especially when you have squadmembers in a huge battle that you're itchin' to get into.
THe only reason that I don't think they will make the HART timer as low as 3 or 4 minutes is because is because it may make the Sanc Warp Gates obsolete. Why take the warpgate and run half a continent when I can just wait 3 minutes for the HART. Ya know? Just my opinion. |

I still think they should make HART 3 or 4 minutes because people that have aircrafts and vehicles will still use the warpgate because that will still be faster for them. HART drops you off wherever you want, but it takes so long that sometimes by the time I get there the battle has ended and they are moving to a new base or worse a new continent.

Oh, and the adding of new bugs when the patch to "fix" other bugs is annoying. This game has a lot of potential. I hope SoE devs can step up to the plate. They are doing okay, but not great in my book....lots of room for improvement if you ask me. Don't get me wrong; I love playing this game. It rocks when you can have 20 to 30 people coordinate an attack. That's when things livin' up and battle #'s get even higher (around 100 or so). As for lag, I don't get lag that much in this game as compared to other games. I think they did a good job in keeping lag down...at least from my perspective. Others may disagree from what I hear..... All in all, I like this game and will be playing this game for a long time or at least until WoW comes out

The thing I hate most about this game are the nazis who post threads like this because they can't figure out why they suck at it. Even the computer-challenged can figure that most of the problems with their lag and low fps is either a) their gforce 2 MX, b) 256 MB of RAM, or c) the 30 operations running compared to the "operational" 23. If you have half a brain, you optimize your performance by getting rid of un-needed eye candy.
The points of this:

the only thing i dont really like is zerg camping. like when a zerg decids to go to a base with no1 in there, and they all just sit around sucking their thumbs. filling up the cc with 10 maxs, and justloading everybody inot the courtyard for n aperent reason, i mean nooffence, but thats just stupid.
this game needs more tatics, instead of a zerg dm, how to override the base, where do u place ur ass inside, just plain tatics, the ctf thing may have some, but its not what this never ending game needs.

I think platoons are the single thing that most people have been waiting for, even over things such as the Sanc Strike and the Lodestar. For the uneducated, platoons were initially said to be three squads... though how full those squads must be and whether two squads can still make a platoon was something that was never covered. But imagine having 30 people all working together... that's more people then most popular FPSs can fit on one server.
HART changes... it'll never happen, otherwise it defies the purpose of warp gates and respawning. If you get involved in a battle and suddenly you lose the ability to pickup your max suit or access a terminal, all you'd have to do is quickly warp back to Sanc and drop back in. The current time is ideal because it keeps Drop Pods from being abused in various manners, and makes the time between reinforcements further apart otherwise wave after wave of Zergers would come pooring in every couple of minutes. Now as for Paul's comment, I agree to an extent... most people cause their own problems with performance in this game, either from not having the hardware to support it or from turning on way too many features that they can't handle. I have a very decent rig, mind you, (1.33 GHz Athlon, 1 GB 2700 RAM, ATI 9700) but the game still has some annoying bugs... such as hard locks and CTDs. Thankfully, I only tend to get one hard lock every two hours or so with SOE claiming its either my power supply or overheating that's the problem... which I know isn't the case because I've already taken them into consideration and tested them. Still, the game looks GREAT with everything enabled, and I only experiance some net lag in battles involving 300+ people in very close proximity. Below that, I have no problems whatsoever. |
