Robert Hope was indeed the first person ever to receive the "honorary veteren" award [citation] from the Congress.

He was also Knighted in England, received the Congressional Medal of Honor, and was given the Freedom Medal by LBJ.

Here was a man that loved his country; supported it's military, and loved to make other laughed.

A sad sight indeed to see such a good comedic move on; as his humor was not "low life" as some in today's comedy arena are.

A known philatropist[sp] he gave millions to numerous causes, while still attaining an estimated wealth of 600 million.
