Turrets

I've seen 'over use' of turrets recently, where an outfit would place like 20 turrets side by side, making a hell of a blast. I saw a Mag explode in a matter of second going towards those damn thing.

But i'm ok with that. Thats not the problem.

But i'd like to see the Combat Engs having to 'rearm' those things. Somehow like it used to be in TF. You had to 'upgrade' those turrets to make them more efficient. So you had to go back to get stuff and ammo, and work on the turret, go back and work some more.

Same thing could happen in PS. The Engs are responsible for reloading and 'upgrading' (?) the turrets. That would make things a whole lot more interesting.

Reloading them....ehh maybe...that would put them in the line of fire (erm ya that is the point of the game) but it could work if done right..One thing i think is needed is more the one type of turrent that a person can set up....

YOu sure there wernt mines inovled in that Mag blowing up? Spitfires dont do shit to armor and dont have squat for hitpoints, they are in no way compared to TFC turrents. If you dont believe me try making a CE and placing one.

The idea of gimping spitfires just isn't a good one, sorry. Spitfires are fairly fun and fairly effective if used correctly but they aren't even remotely overpowered. They're simple enough to get rid of.

Spitfires dont blow up tanks quickly anyway, and they cant be placed very close to each other so i doubt this is what you saw. I think they are useless unless you catch someone off guard. As a tank driver i just run them over, not worth taking the time to shoot.

321...

So you don't like the idea 'cause you wouldn't do it? or because its a none practical/useful idea?...

The point of sticking to your stuff is the whole idea of it all. You set defences, stand by it. If you don't want it anymore, you can leave, but it'll go useless, or deconstruct it...

A bit like Battlefield, it would be interesting to have the possibility to pickup mines and turrets back, to put them somewhere else.

Probably what you saw was a turret set up as bait for the Mag to run over which set of a mine placed near its base with boomers placed around that. Makes a big boom as the mine sets off the boomers.

You cant place turrets too close, so they must have been spread out, and i very much doubt it was them that destroyed the MAG, the MAG was probalby serverly damaged to begin with....

I think that idea sucks. The whole idea of deployables is that your deploy them and move on.
I might be conviced to agree with having them "drain" energy so they could only sustain fire for a certain length of time, before having to stop and recharge ( bit like how the afterburners on aircraft work ).
