Cheating is what a player does at some point after they give up trying to be good and before they quit the game.

Some players feel shame and stop cheating, but some consider it a mark of skill and proof that they are better than everyone else. What they don't realize is that they lose any chance at the moral victory and will starve for glory until they can't even win by cheating.

Happily, the by-product of cheating is that the devs are better able to track down exploits and design flaws, thanks to the free effort of the cheaters, who wind up being little more than unpaid playtesters. It's an victory that the honest players can be assured will amount to more than a cheater will ever be worthy of.
