I really want a feel good kinda thread here...
So i figured we could post some of fondest and funniest memories of all time. you know... dig deep um...I can remember... in elementary school this boy who would eat worms...he was so gross... but he would eat worms and then try to kiss the girls... lol, we all ran screaming. There was a tire swing that we all fought over... it was the coolest thing on the playground... but a problem that we would have is just this huge line to get to be on it... so we would rival eachother on the balance beam, and whoever was knocked off first was shunned from the tire swing... lol, turns out the tire swing snaps and breaks a girls leg and they took it down... Then there was that first night... when it would be just me and my grandparents... and those fireflies showing just a little more than a glimpse of themselves... more of them in the darker areas... her and those etches that consumed her face... and our hot tea...she told me i would be alright... and she would make something of me... which leads into my favorite memories of all... her and I playing piano...infront of my grandfather who would hum our tune from the day bed. I think certain instances make the person who we are today... you know... those memories that are meant to last with us...that are meant to look back and make us smile. I thought it would be uplifting just to share some of our own with the rest of the great people here at PSU. I have more too So, when i see some, i might post some more you guys. eMa |

The coolest thing on the playground was a tire swing? Man we had like space-age jungegym sets will all sorts of spiffy addons. We had a big, like, dome that you could climb all over (although we just had big cage matches in it). There was also a big catapilar thing you could climb all over. Hmm

Hmm I'll probably post more when I get a chance to think. But thinking initially about my childhood I'd have to say down my grandfather's farm.
Just the whole experience was great. It was by some water, so we had a rope tied to a tree for a swing. We'd go swimming, fishing, just sit around and shoot the shit, have some cold lemonade, go exploring in the woods, have target practice with some rifles.. It was probably the best time of my life. No cares about reports due, no worries about college professors, didn't have to worry about being called into work... Absolutely not a care in the world. The nights were the best. They were in the lower 80s, sitting on the porch drinking cold lemonade, listening to my grandfather talk about his adventures (and he had a ton of them) or listening to baseball on the radio while the land lit up with lightning bugs. Good times.

My first kiss.
i was in 6th grade, and there was a HOT girl that i hooked up with. she was at my house hangin out...we were havin fun watchin TV while my mom was away. So she asks if she could kiss me, It was my first kiss so i was really nervous. I tell her i'll brb and i go into the bathroom to prep myself for the big moment. I use some mouth wash then as im about to walk out of the bathroom, i get real nervous thinking about it. i go back in and after about 45 seconds, i barf from all the pressure. She says she has to leave when im trying to finish up barfing and i yell "NO WAIT! im coming" so in the panic i run back to the couch and sit next to her. We watch TV a bit longer, and when we were watching TV i was trying to think of a clever way to get back tot he bathroom so i could wash the barf out my teeth and mouth. Then all of a sudden, she rolls over on top of me, grabs the back of my head, and shoves her tongue down my throat so far i bet she tasted my lunch (err what was left of it) so after about 3 seconds of one of the most memorable moments i will ever have. She stops kissing, wipes her mouth, and then she barfs on me from the taste. yup those were the days, we broke up after that as you could imagine hehe |

Just thought of a funny story.
By the stream on the far end of my grandfather's property, my brother was fishing. He cast out his line way too far, across the entire stream and caught it on some trees on the other side. So he makes his way across the stream to the other side and tries to pull it down, but starts yanking on it too hard. Then out of no where the branch it was connected to drops a large oval shape thing (a beehive). Out of no where my brother just starts running across the steam yelling like crazy. The bees chased him all the way back to the house and stung him about 20 times..

Memories memories....
I'll have to dig pretty deep into the vault for this one Well, one of the things that stands out in my mind are those lazy afternoons in primary school (elementary to you yanks). For those who dont know, I am born and raised in Bermuda. The tiny island in the middle of the atlantic ocean, almost directly between New York and England (please dont mix us up with one of the carribean islands). After school was the best time of the day back then. Me and my frieds would turn what should have been a 10 minute walk home into a 3 hour adventure. If we were hungry, we'd climb and relax in either cherry or loquot trees, depending on the season. We'd do so many odd things that I can only look back on and laugh. We'd play football (soccer) or cricket, go down to the girls ballet school and throw water balloons in their changing room (got caught and spanked many many times..), and for a 2 week period tried our hardest to build a treehouse. those 5 trees will never be quite the same again. Well, thats basically what my life was like until I finished with elementary. Those were probably the best years of my life, and now that I look back at the speeker at out graduation, he was totally right: Enjoy your youth while you have it, because when your older you'll wish you could go back to it again. edit: I turn 20 tomorrow..... *sigh*... im so old..

Man thinking about this stuff makes me miss my grandfather. The guy was the best story teller I've ever met in my life. He could tell a story about the most boring thing, say... quanitative methods and statistics, but still keep you on the edge of your seat. And he had plenty of good material too.
Left his home at age 16 to get work and help get money for his family. This took him all up and down the mississipi river. When WW2 broke out he enlisted instantly. Went all over Europe. From england, italy, france and onto germany. Came home and had a family, worked 4 jobs to support them and get them an education he never had. Retired and bought a farm down WV making a living off the land and profits from a farmers market. He was probably in his mid 70s when he decided he wanted his GED and got it (made a few newspapers) and started taking college classes before he died. Gave me the best piece of advice I'll ever hear after I got into an arguement with my brother. He said "Respect everyone else's opinions until they try to impose them on you." Great guy

Me, my older bro, and my cousins (now they're 21 and 19) were all at my grandfathers ranch screwing around near this huge ditch. I have this 2nd cousin who I despise, so me and him got into an argument (we were 8 or 9 I think) and I punched him and then threw him into the ditch... good times Another one, we were at my grandfathers ranch again. There is this house on top of this big grassy hill, and we were all messing around throwing things at the bulls. I kinda went behind one bull and spanked it (that bull was so damn sexy!) and then it chased my brother down the hill... funny stuff... Oh another one... We were at soccer practice (I think I was 8 or 9) and we were all screwing around and beating the crap out of each other, and this guy was running toward us. It had rained the night before, so everything was really muddy and wet. So the kid running toward us tripped and flew into the mud... It was funny at the time Then this other time (this was earlier this year about 1 month and a half ago) we were crashing at a friends house. So me and some guys were talking to this girl that we know from school. And we said that we were going to go to her house, but she didn't believe us. So we left the house at like 11 o'clock (or 10:30 not sure) but we wanted to go to someone elses hosue first to get buzzed. Then on the way we saw and HEB, and we were hungry so we went and bought some food. Then we decided to go to the girls house. Yeah well the story would go on even longer... but I don't have the patience to type it. So we showed up at her house, she saw us, we scared the crap out of her... she called the police... we ran like hell... we never got buzzed... BTW she looked damn sexy in her pajamas

Yes, we cow tip all the time, its fucking hillarious. Unfortunately, me my cousins and my older brother are only going to be able to see each other like once a year. One of my cousins lives and goes to school in Austin. The other is goiing to school here, and my brother is leaving for college next year
