Is it possible to put your own music into the game?

I wanted to put my own music into the game, so I put the .mp3 that I wanted into the folder. Then, I went into the XML document, and replaced the tr_sanctuary.mp3 with the exact name of the one that I put into the folder. I replaced the size with the size of the new one. My question is, what are the timestamp and the CRC, and do I have to replace them?

If your going to put in your own music, you have to put it in after the patcher has run, just create a duplicate file, replace the songs with the ones you want, and after it goes through copy it over the one in there.

It's probably easier just to turn off the ingame music and turn on winamp though

Yeah, that creates too much lag though... I'm not sure I exactly understood what you meant though, sorry.

It doesn't really affect it much if you don't use Winamp3 (which is notorious for hogging memory). If you use Winamp2 or the Winamp5 beta (which can run exactly the same in style and memory usage as Winamp2 if you wish + new features, or the flashiness of Winamp3 with still low memory usage.. worth a try) then it shouldn't bother you unless you're running on like 256mb RAM or something.

alright, ill try and be more clear this time.

Take the music folder, then copy and paste it to a different directory. Then, in the new music folder, replace the default files with the songs you want (renamed accordingly of course.) Then, every time you start PS, after the launch pad is finished checking your files, overwrite the default music folder with the one you customized. That make sense? (I'm bad at explaining things.)

Edit: either Smoke or dallas outlined the procedure during a dev interview, don't know which one though

But, as stated, you'd be better off just using winamp 2, you'll almost certainly get sick of the music you copied in extremely fast.
