I would also suggest that you wait until a couple weeks before you're ready to buy before you spec anything. Prices will change quite a bit in 6 months.

Also, for God's sake don't get a pre-assembled motherboard/processor combo if you're getting an athlon64. They always use that shitty ass thermal wax stuff. You could run the processor 10 degrees cooler if you used arctic silver and a good heatsink instead of that wax crap and a stock heatsink.

It doesn't come to you already assembled. You have to do it yourself, at least from this place. There is an option to check if you want it installed and tested before shipping, but I never do that.

Yup, saved me some typing...

IM getting:

187 Asus P4C800 E deluxe
450 case with odds and ends(its at 420 but im adding a peltier for 20 bucks, this is fans and everything plus keyboard etc)
365 P4 3.2 L2cache512
435 ATI Radeon 9800xt
202 SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro
211 PX708A (Black) Plextor
354 1gig Corsair twinx pro (2x512) DDR 500 (waiting for (2x1024)DDR500 or 533)
358 HMD903DT Iiyamma Vision Master Pro 454 19" CRT
516 WD 2500SE 250gig HDD (X2)(500gig raid 0)
500 Water Cooling system etc. (customized or a 300 dollar prebuilt with accessories) either way same price
350 Good headphones
50 Microphone
250 Cable modem (probly external)
50 Dial-up modem
125 Windows XP
190 PS/and CC Plus 120$ one year subscription!

4593$ Thats a damn good start! unless you can tell me otherwise.

Later ill Get

650 for good kplisch or logitech 7.1 speaker set
500 up to this form recomendation for really good webcam setup

+1100

5693$ Almost all ill ever have to put in it.

And then i can sell the old ram and ill estimate 4 gigs of corsair twinx pro 500/533 ram at (or ill wait to get it when its at):

1500 for 2X(2x1024)ddr 500/533 sets of ram! I can always guy them in seperatly if i dont have the money. By this point i may be working at a computer store so even less if i want.

so either way at full price its:

7193$ over the next year or two And then ill never have to put more into it ever again! But 4693 will get me most of what i will need for it and the expensive stuff like speaker can be used for this and future systems i can hook up together later so i wont have to reporduce the cost later.

Is taht really going over board.
