-Planet Earth, Sol System-
-Johannesburg Protectorate- (Former Southern Africa) -Six miles from the Gagarin Deep Space Communications Center, 6:17 AM- Corporal van Tassle of the Terran Republic Civil Militia carefully adjusted the scope on her Bolt Driver. She lied in the tall grass, on a small hill. The lion lied in the shade of a small tree. There was a pond a few meters away from the tree. She was hunting lions on his spare time. There wasn't much to do, anyway. Ever since Auraxis was cut off somehow from all communications and space travel, bordeom prevailed. She started work at seven. She had parked her Wraith nearby. She breathed slowly. Indeed, the lion wasn't moving. It had a mane, therefore it was male. It looked around, nervous. Johannesburg, which made up of about the southern third of that continent, was a very dangerous place to be. The wilderness was beautiful, but if you got lost, it turned deadly. Lions, stampedes, and unknown diseases ran rampant. She had set up Motion Sensors around her, just in case she had to make a quick run. The dangerous environment was why she joined the Militia- the volunteer civilian army- you got to get a gun. Animals killed the unarmed. She prepared to fire. She checked wind. Nothing. Distance- 200 meters. An easy shot for the 12.7mm (.50 cal) bullet. She began to squeeze the trigger when she heard it. Jet engines. The lion began to run. Damn! She looked up to see two Terran Republic Air Army Skystreaker jets. Capable of Mach 4, 8 medium-range AA missiles, even nuclear weapons, they were the latest in aircraft. None were shipped to Auraxis, only the Reavers and Mosquitoes, which were basically helicopters, not jets. There was no need for jets on Auraxis. Her radio went off. "Corporal, we need you at the center. Something big just came in."

Chapter 2: Fragmentation
van Tassle entered the security checkpoint. One of the guards told her that she was to report to the First Reception Station. She did so. The main building was about four stories high, and mostly office space. The smaller buildings were scattered around with huge radio antennas next to them. There was a second checkpoint leading to a road which led to a huge radio telescope, the largest in the world. She took the accelerated walkway to Reception Station 1. It had the largest radio antenna in the facility. She walked through the door to find a whole crowd of people crammed into the main room. "Corporal! Get a look at this!" shouted the radio operator. She walked up to him and looked at the monitor. There was a string of zeroes, ones, and Xes. "We just recieved this digital transmission. It got here from Auraxis!" "How? It couldn't have..." "The Xes are the parts that are corrupted. We still can't interpret what they're saying. But we have something." "Can we send something back?" "Jacobson DSCC on Mars is already on it. They also got the transmision. Ours came through better though." "So...is communications coming back?" Someone entered the room, shouting. "WE GOT A WORD!" Everyone turned and shut up. Private Brom "Bones" was clutching a piece of paper. "We've deciphered a short phrase from the transmission. '...wormhole collapse.' I think we just found out what happened."

I always had an idea for an "expantion" that had fighting on earth, the story behind it was that the rebelion there gave teh earthbound people a bit of insparation to rebel as well

Chapter 3: Little Green Men
-Planet Mars, Sol System- -Jacobson Deep Space Communications Center, Colony Alpha- -Main Building- Colony Alpha was surrounded by a thick shielded glass bubble. Nothing that was tested broke it, from meteors to 100mm armor penetrating shells. There was air inside. However, gravity was less. "So we have a string of Xes, zeroes, and ones?" asked the director. "Yes, basically, with a hell of a lot of Xes." replied one of the operators. "Whoa..word just came in from Gagarin on Earth. They've managed to decode a phrase- 'wormhole collapse.'" "Amazing! Is there anything else?" The operator messaged that to Earth. The following conversation had a delay of quite a few minutes. (And you thought 1000 ms was bad ping.) "Jacobson to Gagarin: Anything else?" "Gagarin to Jacobson: Nothing much other than a few two-letter words like it and him." "Jacobson to Gagarin: Roger that." "Gagarin to Jacobson: Vanu. And some other word behind it. Starts with an S." "Jacobson to Gagarin: Is it cut off after that, or are you working in it?" "Gagarin to Jacobson: 'Vanu SoXXXXXXXXX.' We cannot decode any more." "Jacobson to Gagarin: We have just a few zeroes and ones scattered about, nothing translateable. Send any other words found. Over and out." The next afternoon, 'Xew CoXXXXXXXXXX" was found, along with "requXXX" and "core". Nothing else.

Chapter 4: Paradise Found
-High Orbit over Pluto, Sol System- -Carrier TRSS Loyalty, hyperlight communications deck- Because these spaceships operated so far from Earth, all communications had to be faster than light. So it was that the third occurence of the transmission happened, although it was late. However, it was different from the others- and clearer. The Terran Republic has declared a state of emergency on Auraxis, as Liberty's Call members started their own seperate state called the "New Conglomerate". Taking advantage of the wormhole collapse, they seceded. Any citizens found to be deserting will be shot. The Vanu SoveXeignty has formed from the scientist groups. We have just recieved word that Terran Republic soldiers have occupied the coreXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX...the message was cut off after that. "Holy shit! We got something from..." As fate would have it, the ship entered an electric storm. All power was out save for emergency power. Records of the transmission were lost. Without guidance, the TRSS Loyalty's sensors failed to pick up the meteor inbound. It struck the hyperlight communications deck, killing everyone there. The ship managed to limp back to Pluto for repairs. Had it not been for the quick actions of the skipper who sealed off the vacuum, the ship could have been lost. Unfortunately, the AGN broadcast was lost.

Conclusion: Paradise Lost
-What happened?- Due to the wormhole collapse, a belt of radiation has prevented communications in or out of Auraxis. However, one transmission made it through and was scattered, as light in fog, as it passed through the radiation field- and miraculously, through a hole. The first two were hit by some radiaiton, they were practically illegible. They made it to Earth and Mars. The third hit the TRSS Loyalty. These hyperlight transmissions made it out without a wormhole, and were thus very delayed. They were broadcast during the start of the war years ago. The hole closed up. No more transmissions made it out. A response was later sent to Auraxis, it didn't make it. More attempts followed, they were all futile. The bloodshed continued on Auraxis, and nobody on Earth knew.
