Enemy base idea!

Weapons and vehicles are already easy pickin's for anyone who really wants them. You want some other empire's weapons? Shoot them and snag their stuff. Pretty easy, considering you probably kill hundreds of people from opposing empires daily, and more than half of those people have loadouts containing empire-specific weapons. There's a veritable gold mine of them out on the battlefield, just waiting to be taken. How hard can it be?

For vehicles it's a bit harder, but still pathetically easy if you know what you're doing. Sneak up on a parked vehicle, wait for the crew to jump out or lure them out somehow, then hack it and repair if necessary. I've seen at least one hacked TR Magrider in about half the major battles we've had against the VS, so it's definitely not difficult.

Failing that, send a /tell to some other like-minded person of an opposing empire and arrange some black-market trading. Admittedly it has its risks, but then again there are other ways, as described above.
