I'm a little curious as to what exactly the armor piercing firing mode of most weapons really does. I often switch to it if I'm shooting at a MAX unit or a Vehicle. Then use my regular fire to take down infantry.
However I really don't see a big difference when I forget to switch back. Can anyone tell me the advantages of armor piercing mode? does it only damage an enemies armor? If so does regular firing mode do little damage to armor and more to health? Thanks! |

What weapon are you using? It sounds like you are using a VS weapon; and if you are, I can't give you an answer on that.
Just keep in mind AP is for Max's and Armor, AI is for the Infantry, just keep it at that and forget about it.

There is a signifigant difference in the amount of damage done by AI and AP ammo. against infantry, it will take roughly 2x as many AP shots to kill someone than AI. You will do practicly no damage against vehicles or MAXes with AI rounds.
