Pfft. you'd think more ppl would know about it. Yeah, Electrons repel one-another, so when 2 atoms are moved together, they don't actually make contact. The electrons repel one another and the atoms dont touch. You might think, how in hell do electrons provide enough force to prevent the atoms from coming together, but since they are all linked together to form molecules in the trillions, it becomes quite a powerful force, and thus "feels" solid. Oh and spee... I'm pretty sure that the US Supreme court would argue that while "scientifically" there is no contact, the few billionths of a nanometer (or whatever, I'm speculating) that the atoms come within eachother qualifies as contact according to the law. Sorry bud :\
