all valid points, and i suppose i have to agree with you on the pad deployment time as a result.

to support the additional cloaking suggestion, i present the following bug of suckness:

I see that too. sometimes you can just EMP an AMSed area and get a few kills from all the mines exploding, even though they dont even count as your kills.

if the Router cant cloak, at least tone down that little effect it has when you deploy it.

Mount a Spitfire on the Router.

Just kidding.

You all sound valid, but you forgot one thing: The Router is useless.

The gun kata treats the gun as a total weapon, each fluid position representing a maximum kill zone, inflicting maximum damage on the maximum number of opponents while keeping the defender clear of the statistically traditional trajectories of return fire. By the rote mastery of this art, your firing efficiency will rise by no less than 120%. The difference of a 63% increase to lethal proficiency makes the master of the gun katas an adversary not to be taken lightly.

I can think of one use for the Router, but I never see it utilized that way. Deploy a router at the base of a base wall you're attacking, give the telepad to a mossy pilot, have him hot drop onto the catwalk, and deploy the telepad there. It doesn't give the defenders any advantage, as they could just jump off anyways.

Oh well, I'm all for making the router suck less.

^might as well get your drop pilot to put in on the roof of the base where the enemy can't get to it. i'm thinking the stairwell roof on bio labs, the airpad roof on tech plants, etc. - that way your team doesnt take damage going from the pad to the facility interior, and won't require them to carry anything besides short-ranged weapons

Aye, and the router pad doesn't have any risk of being prematurly blown to hell.

I have tried to do this many times. The problem is that you are almost always out of range if you dont want your router blown up immediately. Also, people just wont use it if it is not near a spawn point

My next suggestion may go way too far. But hey what the hell....

How about a new vehicle that combines the AMS and Router functions together?
