First off, you'll need DIVX to open this video. Secondly, i've been using Balisongs for about 3 weeks now. My current knife is a CCC (Charming China Cheapie). I'm going to be purchasing a Benchmade 42 Model in the near future (MSRP $200, but you can get them in the $120 range online). In the video are very basic moves. Horizontal/Vertical opening closings. Horizontal/Vertical opening/closings in a seamless combination, and then some intermediate moves at the end. (notice how i almost stabbed myself in the fucking nuts). Basically what i'm doing is holding the balisong inverted and flipping it that way. The hardest trick i know is doing an inverted move where the balisong flips around the webbing of my thumb using nothing but the momentum from my opening flip (as seen in the vid). Then i do a similar move, but instead of flipping it around the webbing of my thumb i transfer it to my left hand and do a basic horizontal opening (very sloppy but i didnt feel like refilming). Enjoy Balisongs: (Butterflly Knives) Benchmade Model 42. My CCC: (But chrome) Comments? I know Hamma also flips balisongs, anyone else into flipping? Last edited by Squeeky; 2004-10-29 at 08:02 PM. |

It reminds me of a yoyo. But yes, basically all you're doing is flipping a knife. The things you can do with this thing are amazing. I've closed the thing full force on my fingers a couple times, it hurts and i bleed all over. Then when you ricochette the knife off the back of your hand you get alot of bruises. But its fun.

Nice
That's some good balisonging there The only thing I noticed is that you need a little work on the open grip, securing both ends with the blade out, but that's really about it. For three weeks that's really impressive. Your under-hand Re-grip is awesome, nice and smooth. Baisongs are a great deal of fun... but start with a dull one, the first time you turn it wrong and find the blade against the top of yur hand will be the last time

I was going to purchase a trainer, and then i thought of taping the blade, but the Balisong Forum i visit advises against doing that because you become really lax when you use the live blade again and the potential for cutting yourself increases because of your carelessness. Besides, a few cutes never hurt. |
