I heard it's based on how many people are waiting to spawn, and how many people have binded to that spot. Sanctuary is very fast, a tower in the middle of nowhere would be fast, a base that 300 people have dematerialized to warp to because it's under attack would be 5 minutes. I'm just gonna use a Reaver/Skeeter/Basilisk.

I thought 5 minutes was just the maximum time you could spend in your corpse if you wanted to wait for a rez. But you should be able to release early if you don't want to wait.
And of course spawning at front-line locations would have to take a decent ammount of time. How could you every hope to take a base if the defenders would respawn every 10 seconds? |

Like has been said here multiple times:
1. You can stay at your corpse for up to 5 minutes, before you automatically release to wait to respawn: AND 2. Your respawn time depends on how many people are in line to be respawned at that location. Each person adds to your wait time. |
