Advertisements in PS2

If you played the original you remember the ads. How do y'all feel about ads in PS2? With a F2P model I'm sure this is a possibility.

I didn't mind them as long as they were quiet.

Absolutely nothing wrong with billboards or something of the sort showing advertisements. As long as they are out of the way/in an uncap or friendly base, something like that..

Im all for ADs, they are a stable and secure income for the devs and in turn make sure that the game store will not break the game balance.

Yeah sure ads is fine by me. For me personally they could always have images meant for advertising on the loading screens also. I have a vague memory that they used to have this back in the day. It was a Intel image if I recall correctly. Maybe it wasn't a ad but it sure looked like one.

Maybe a twitter Q&A about the new layout?

WTF? You sell-outs. NO ADS for PS2 please. Advertisements ruined the whole feel of the first game. I roll out to a base, fire going on all around me, about to die and I see an old spice commercial happening on the wall?

The ADs in PS1 were tacky, loud and repeated over and over. They have absolutely no place in this kind of game. I don't care of the devs make money from them, Sony is a giant company with plenty of revenue sources, they don't need to whore out this game for a couple of extra bucks. Where would you even put the ads anyway?

They... didn't ruin any feel at all. They were in the HART building and friendly bases. And how are any of us sellouts? Ads in a game aren't for personal advancement. They weren't nearly as annoying as you seem to think they were.

If the money goes back into the game we should all welcome them with open arms. Any money they have to make this game better is good IMO.

Considering they did it when they were charging us 15 bucks a month, I feel like it's not just a possibility but a guarantee.

You're a sellout because you are willing to accept ads in a game you pay for already. Maybe ads would make more sense in an free to play model, but in PS1 you payed a pretty hefty monthly fee plus the cost of the game. Ok listen. I live in a world where I get bombarded everywhere I go with advertisements. Frankly, I'm sick of people trying to sell shit to me. Ads IRL are pretty annoying, I don't need them mucking up my online fun time.

I pay $100 to go to a Phillies game, am I sellout when they try to advertise to me?

$15 is "pretty hefty?"

PS2 IS free to play, so it makes sense.

This ain't a baseball game, I expect to be advertised to there. Though to be honest I wouldn't like it much there either. You can't just accept the fact that some people don't want to have things sold to them sometimes?

Only if you can accept that fact that this isn't 1992, and advertising is part of the everyday world we live in.
