Yeah, I'm probably gonna need to upgrade this thing. Dual core 3.2 ghz, 2gb ddr2. Radeon 4870. Maybe I'll see what performance is like in beta before I decided exactly what to get.

I also get further satisfaction from knowing my card wont randomly burst into a flamboyant display of pixels and jaggered edges probably due to overheating.

But of course things change when you have 100 players at once on your screen and 10 galaxies parking around and 30 tanks rolling at once, then of course 560 wont be enough im sure.

Dynamic Level Of Detail: You set a frame rate goal, and it will scale down the textures and reduce the model complexity so it matches. More or less.

When the fit hits the shan, stuff will start to look less nice, but you' might be to busy trying to Stay Alive to notice.

Thats the funny thing about games, if you give the player an amazing 10FPS vista at the start, then secretly remove half the options most would never notice.
