The impression they've given us is that "etc." includes class switching. Otherwise you'd have to commit suicide when the gen needed fixing.

yea they have said you can switch classes at a terminal.

I liked the idea of "inventetris" and picking/choosing the items I want, how many I want, and how to manage space. I know that the entire gaming population seems to have the intelligence of a coconut, but IT WASN'T HARD TO LEARN. In fact, it required no learning at all. Drag weapon, drop it in box.

Also I dislike the idea of shields, unless they act like armor did and don't recharge by themselves but do need an engineer/item that can recharge shields manually.

The problem wasn't that it was difficult to learn. The problem was that it was clunky and frustrating to use.

Im with you there, one of the reasons i never latched onto Halo's competative multiplayer is because Shields make me feel like im impacting the combat alot less.

I dont feel like im interacting, when theres an unspecific strength force field between me and victory. That being said, i think its the only way to do it, you cant have a player dieing from indirect fire from Reavers everytime he turns a corner.

Makes me think shooting a MAX will feel like Sector 8, a bullet sponge and completely uncompelling circle straffing.

How so? I've never had any problems with it nor have I heard anyone complain about it. It takes all of 20 seconds to come up with a brand new loadout customized to your liking.

20 seconds too long, should just be able to geto a term, switch out one gun for anther and not have to dick around changing all the ammo over manually.

You only have to do the 20 second process once, then just hit G and 'favorite number' every other time, which takes a third of a second. I've never manually reloaded ammo from an equipment terminal, just use your favorite that wasn't hard to put together at all.

Exactly. It wasn't a valuable mechanic so it's been removed in Planetside 2.

It was extremely simple and there is no reason to remove it. I don't care which system they go with, I'm simply saying that I did not find anything wrong with the system PS1 had. PS2's is basically the exact same thing, just with arrows to select things.

I'm really liking the layout. Looks very Planetside-ish although it is very new. Don't care that it looks blue, very cool to the eyes, the base and everything else will have empire colors. Perhaps they were going for the hologram look, see all the grid lines?

This is the beginning, would like to see mosquito, but wouldn't be surprised if beta came out soon, even before we are privy to all screens.

this is all well and good if you use only 10 loadouts.
