Like in Earth and Beyond. I don't play anymore but I was with the open beta and they gave you that FF mark on your ship if you wanted it and it showed you were in beta. C&C Generals does the same thing.
I can't count the number of people who have proclaimed they are soo badass in DAoC because they were in the beta.

I get that attitude in every game. "You n00b, I've played since the demo"
or "owned! n00b, I've had this since release"
My response is usually: "If playing since demo/release makes you the best, then how come I just kicked ur butt?"
It's funny when they shout off one last comment then leave
I didn't know that C&C Generals was doing a thing for taking part in the beta, but I did know that they are giving you a flag if you pre-ordered.
Hopefully SOE is too smart to pull crap like that.
