The Transformers TV show was made to make money selling the toys, so it's no wild fantasy that a huge company like Sony could release a toy series (and machinima) based on Planetside2. I would spend a couple hundred over the years on GI Joe sized toys and maybe a ball cap for my hair defying scalp.

I want a shirt and a poster or two.

These are cheap to produce, and they can have a high mark up, just in case not a lot of people buy them. They don't need to do much more than this at first along with these being limited runs.
