I will admit up-front, when it comes to FPS games, I am a nobody... Im 46 and I just dont react as fast as younger folks do, and my eyes are worse, and my time is limited... so I rarely invest the time to get good, and good is all I can ever hope to be as a shooter... Luckily, there are very strong strategic overtones in this multi-dimensional, massive scale MMOFPS, so I can find a place for myself...
I did play planetside 1 and I simply loved that game... I mostly soloed until my daughter started to play the game with me... Then did some fantastic time with the GotR... So you could say... PS just got better and better for me... I just wanted to take a short time, as a reminder, to say that this "game" is one of a kind. It is an elite AAA title that is going to be what I ussually call a "godgame", and we all get to be a part of it. Elite players from all over the world in one place, struggling for whatever... Faction, Outfit, Killcount, Friends, Loyalty, Teamwork, King &fkn Country... whatever they consider important. So as not to write a wall'o'text, summarizing... through all the bickering, I would like to point something out... Everyone comes here from a different place, we have different views, and goals, none less valid than the other, just different. However, we all have things to share, and share something... a passion for this experience that we are all chomping at the bit to see unfold. Even an FPS nobody can see that here, we have more in common, than not... So, I just wanted to complement every single one of you on the efforts I have seen here to make this an experience that, I for one, will remmember for life. Well... whats left of it...  That said... in game, if you are not purple... I will kill you...

(so called) Middle age men (actually ol' bastard geeks
 ) are heavily over-represented in PS... Flying a gal filled with a dozen trigger-happy teens felt like driving your boys to the next baseball match. Felt like a soccer mum...

hehe, i don´t remember another eyeklops post i could agree on that much
 i haven´t been excited for a game for years now. but the news of planetside getting a sequel instantly reactivated the waiting for christmas feeling of my childhood. and i am sure all the old people will turn into kiddys on auraxis immediately. i´m also losing almost all my hair and have lost the reaction time of youth i suppose. but support was always my thing and i hope this will still be big in ps2. looking forward to shooting you all in the face or putting a boomer on your back... unless you fight for freedom, of course!

Excelling at support roles is one of my favorite aspects of Planetside. I spent plenty of time as a grunt, but some of my best PS1 experiences came from combat engie, Galaxy pilot, Deli driver, and ANT/AMS support.
Support roles are one of the main reasons that PS2 will be able to outlast (and outshine) all of its FPS counterparts. |

It will be hilarious if this game is heavily twitch based, and theres is a noticable increase in us veterans dieing, between the time school finishes and the time the kids go to bed. haha
