Entangled Photon Neural Accelerators (EPNA) are a type of cybernetic enhancement that increases reflexes and physical speed for the user. These work by inserting split photons along nerve pathways and setting them up to communicate with one another. Unlike Brain Overclocking, this allows signals to travel far more rapidly than the human body normally allows, though the two in conjunction are extremely effective (except when the user's response time is faster than that of their equipment).
When someone has EPNA installed, they find themselves doing everything faster than they anticipated. Holstering or reloading a weapon, drawing and swinging a blade, running and jumping, piloting and / or gunning, compensating for recoil, all receive benefits from the use of EPNA. The one drawback of EPNA is that it only works properly when the body is fully intact. Any damage that gets through shields and harms the user will cause EPNA to shut down. In addition to medical aid, a nanite injection is required to restore EPNA functionality, which is something that must be administered by an engineer. EPNA technology was first experimented with as part of the BattleFrame Robotics project, as a way to let a single user control a complex vehicle. The BattleFrame Robotics project was scrapped when researchers determined that designing situational configurations for conventional tanks were a more effective use of resources, but EPNA continued on as its own project. |

Ooooooh, I like this. Fun way to explain upgrading things similar to in mw3 how u can get perks such as quickdraw/quickdraw pro, etc... Could have it's own cert tree and perhaps take up an equipment/utility slot or w/e (balancing issue). |

A liiiiitttttlllllee bit overkill, but good nevertheless. I dunno if gunning and piloting should be effected, but holstering, reloading, melee speed, all good points and ideas for a cybernetic I think.
Working only when fully intact makes me think of the laser sword with Legend of Zelda. |

I was thinking more along the lines of an implant or utility (cert tree) rather than having somebody else have to run up and "boost" you. I also think that it'll be pretty well balanced with the no-damage rule, and will also make it almost more of a reward in and of itself for you to even get one shot on an opponent because if they have epna it will then be disabled until they're healed/repaired. Also, figure you could dump hundreds of certs into this and it'll only boost a few things -- it won't be like going from ArmA to Quake III status or anything.
