Finally! Confirmation that vehicles have kinetic dampeners!
Ok, for those of you who don't know how they work.... Think of them like parachutes. If you jump out of a plane too low, they won't have time to deploy and slow you down enough to land safely. But if you jump out of a plane high enough, there's plenty of time, and you'll land without taking ANY damage. In PS, the -only- way to take damage from falling is to fall from a -low- altitude. A high one isn't low enough. As for what they look like.... Maybe a glow around the armor? All it is is a energy field that reduces the amount of kinetic energy your body/armor contain through falling. Kinetic energy being energy that is moving you (i.e. the force of gravity or something). |

Well, the first thing I'm gonna do is install the game, then I'll fall out of a perfectly good Galaxy. I think that if I fall out of a perfectly good Galaxy, then try to install the game, that I'll suffer some sort of injury requiring massive amounts of bedrest and spongbaths done by nurse Bertha, the human wildebeast.
That being said... I can't wait to fly a galaxy and drop off some MAX's. Or provide air cover for an air drop. Gonna be lots of fun. ::First post:: |

...okay. No more about buffalo nurses, please.
Anywho, Molecular's right. For the 1,567,842,039th time, it's damage negation (NOT reduction) above a certain altitude. If they kick in, no damage from fall. Fall too low (but high enough to injure), you get hurt. I heard somewhere (no backup) that, in way of how it looks, it's just you falling quickly (like normal) then slowing as you approach the ground. I'm wondering if you throw a grenade downward during freefall, if it will fall faster than you (in the game, of course), or equalize speeds with you and kind of howver next to your head for a few seconds before exploding. |
