Do want more accuracy, but LESS overall damage for bigger guns, but then again the current ideology is to keep MAXes indoors and off the main battlefield, to encourage vehicle usage, which is a smart design decision, something I didn't like about PS1.

One handed weapons could also remove an often ignored weakness if maxed in PS2, their inability to aim down sights.
So, between easier cover, increased accuracy and decreased recoil from the supporting arm, and sights, I'd say it just about works without any new guns. You get a max/heavy assault hybrid that splits the difference between the two. If anything, this "change as little as possible" implementation would require a global accuracy/recoil nerf and damage or ROF buff across all MAX weapons, as you wouldn't want the 1h option providing anyone with perfect recoilless accuracy. |
