If you are asking about in game, your guess is as good as ours. Not much is known about that. But if you want to join an outfit before the game starts, then check the database, or run a search on planetside outfits.

Wow..
Son... If you don't know how to lead a Clan/Outfit, stop/quit now. Things that might help if you REALLY want to keep your Outfit would to be: 1: Get a website. 2: Define a leader. (If its you, let them know that.) 3: Think about a recruitment officer. (Those are good if you want to be big.) 4: Organization, make sure your very organized, or you'll fall like a rock. 5: Try to have a set amount of rules and requirments that people need to answer and agree to in order to join. When looking for new members sit down and talk to them, discuss some things and get to know them. Talk to them, give them some tasks if you need help. (Outside of the game that is.) You MUST get a website though, with no website you cannot have a Outfit, it doesn't work. But for a solid answer as to how to tell someone they are in your Outfit, follow the steps and I think if you have a decent amount of common knowledge then you'll be fine. Best of luck, and keep us posted as to how your outfit is doing, we always like to help if you need it. |

I doubt many people will be outfit hopping because when they leave one outfit, news will spread that they left an outfit for absolutely no reason and other outfits will not want to accept them.

I don't see outfit hopping as a big concern, even if it does happen.
Firstly, hopping to different shouldn't net you more exp than sticking with one good one. If you stick with it, and learn to work with your team mates, you will rack up more exp (from being a better fighting unit) than if you just move on all the time. Secondly, how else is one supposed to be able to "try out" an outfit to see if it's the style / environment they want from one? As for IRC vs. Web, I'd lean much more towards having a web page. You can discuss stuff on a web BBS, even if you are busy in RL. You can't always hang out on an IRC channel all the time if you are a working stiff, or just have things to do. But, I've never been much of an IRC hound, I'll admit. |
