I like it. The grey/blue is still evocative enough of blue that you still get the right impression. It's sort of like the "LOL BROWN N BLOOM" of a lot of modern shooters, but it's appropriate here since Planetside 2 will feature both more vibrant colors, as well as more muted browns and greys, depending on atmospherics and time of day.
Considering the hazy background of the image, I think it creates a good mood. Not the most colorful background every, but nice and stylized, with plenty of subtlety which some background designers miss out on. I'd rather have a nice and subtle image like this as my background rather than something that would make my eyes bleed.
Very cool first contribution Azovyr, it's already quite good and you can only get better from here. I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more color here and there, but don't compromise your vision for the preference of others. Just play around with more color maybe, but don't force it if you don't like where it's going. Keep doing what seems good to you, first and foremost.
I'd love to see more.
