How do you guys think these processors stack up? The specs are if im not mistaken-
p4 clock: 2.4 ghz, 533fsb, 512k L2 cache. amd 2400+: 2.0ghz clock, 266fsb, 256k L2 cache. Im curious why they say the 2400+ stacks with the p4? It has a lower clock speed, front side bus, and the cache is smaller.

I don't know exactly those two, but I know that my xp2100+ at stock speed (1.73ghz) benchmarks faster than the intel 2.2ghz... There might be a review comparing the two cpus in question on tomshardware.com or something, but I can't go hunting right now.

Yeah, my AMD XP 1700+ beats a P4 2Ghz is almost all tests. And since I overclocked it to 1900+ speeds it can take on a P4 2.2Ghz
For hardware infomation I use www.tomshardware.com as well.

P4 2.4 whit a mobo whit a granitebay chipset. If not then get the AMD 2400
Thats what i'd do. edit: http://www6.tomshardware.com/cpu/200...der_windows_xp (note, the granite bay chipset is roughly equal to 1066 RAM.) Last edited by Zatrais; 2003-03-20 at 06:11 AM. |
