US Combat Medic Looking For VS Outfit

Hello. You can call me Moop or Eric if you'd like. When I first started gaming it was on PC and mainly consisted of RPGs and RTSs. I later switched to consoles, starting with the Gamecube, then the Playstation 2, and finally the Xbox 360. Last summer I switched back to PC in preparation for BF3 and I don't plan on switching back anytime soon. I've played numerous shooters of various types, numerous RPGs, several RTSs, and I've dabbled temporarily in a couple F2P MMOs as well.

I consider myself a rather versatile player overall but I generally prefer to play a more Assault oriented position. I am capable at twitch shooters but definitely prefer more slowly-paced teamwork oriented games. I've enjoyed being a medic for Battlefield games and I enjoy playing a more support-oriented position so Combat Medic seems to be the likely class for me. I'm also pretty much set on joining Vanu.

Depends on the time of the year. Mainly weekends during school time. Several hours every day during the summer.

Specialisation (primary role):
Infantry Combat. Probably Combat Medic or Light/Heavy Assault.

Style of outfit:
I would prefer an outfit that a bit more on the laid back side of things but still capable of getting the job done and having a good time. I'd like to avoid extremely hardcore outfits with strict militaristic rankings and the like.

Why you want to join an outfit:
After playing quite a few mindless shooters and then being disappointed by BF3 and the lack of VOIP, it would be nice to play something a bit more organized. Not to mention I would imagine the quality of teamplay would be much higher.

After reading your post i can say my outfit would suit you just fine, Toxin Raiders is a organized group of guys that like to get out there and win but also have fun, we are not a computer chair commando outfit. Hello Moop,

My outfit is called the the Corsair Division, and it is aimed at being a well organized group divide into small and experienced divisions and your type is what I would like to see from these small divisions. It is a new outfit, and is not as experienced as the other veteran outfits, but if you want to join a team based outfit focused on having fun in numbers, consider us as a possible outfit. As for your past experiences, as a medic, you might need to get more down and dirty into the combat, as a medic in this game has to stay close to his team to heal, but stay out of the action so that he won't get killed, so you might have to develop a different playstyle for Planetside 2.

I think instead of rushing into making a decision about an outfit this early on in the game's history I'm going to wait until I've had the chance to play at least beta. Hopefully I'll have a chance to roll with a few outfits to see if I can find one that fits my playstyle.

Otherwise, both of you seem to have a nice outfit going and if I'll likely send one of you a PM later on if I've made a decision. Out of curiosity, how many members do each of you currently have in your respective outfits?

Thank you for responding Moop, We are about 60 right now who are for sure playing Planetside 2. 35 of which have beta keys. And about 20 who are still up on the fence. If you wanna come play some Battlefield or something with us feel free to hang out on our teamspeak its open to anyone.

The Vanu Rangers is an organized and teamwork oriented outfit. We have a long history in Planetside 1 as well as our core playing together in other games while we waited for Planetside 2. Now that beta is around the corner we are going to be looking to open up to new members who want to get in on the ground floor of the return of the Vanu Rangers.

Our outfit will give players the opportunity to truly get involved in an organized and fun environment. We have an Airborne Infantry Division, a Mechanized Infantry Division, and an Air Division as our primary force. We will be focusing on organized tactics between these divisions. This is not an outfit where a way point will be set and then you will be left to find your own way. We will organize movements and transport for maximum combat effectiveness.
