well if were merely basing our favourite vehicle off looks of PS2 then I'll even go with the Vanguard, it looks like a proper tank.
The new variant of the prowler has some nice features but over all it doesn't impress me at all as a tank design, has more of a parade float feel and it's off centre cannons... well I like symmetry and they make me nauseous to the bottom of my gut. If I had my way I'd tear down the design and put a curved TR version of the RL Merkava tank in its stead. A close second favourite of mine is the new Lightning, it's a lil beast

Symmetry is overrated, prowler looks bad ass and it's like they actually progressed with tank tech in that they can have an ultra-small turret with dual 120mm cannons without breaking the turret. Having a small-profile andbeing too fast to hit is IMHO superior to having more armor at the cost of speed, because no matter how thick it is, there's always something that can penetrate it.

Probably the Flash and Vanguard. Flash has a very nice design. The Vanguard is the only real tank. The other vehicles have had numerous complaints against them in many threads.
Prowler - Offset barrel Magrider - Fixed turret (among other complaints about overall balance) Lightning - Too long Sunderer - Pointless except for the AOE armor repair and resupply It would take some redesigns before they got everything right, but it might be something for during beta or after release.

Also good'on the art team for making an actual sci-fi tank instead of an ultra-modern piece of crap.

I loved the buggies in PS1, particularly the Enforcer, though the Thresher and Marauder were also lots of fun. You had to keep going fast or you were dead! And if you hit mines you were dead! Or ran into aircraft, or got too close to a few tanks, or TR with Strikers... okay well basically you were always pretty screwed but sometimes if you drove fast and well, you'd get out by the skin of your teeth with a few kills, and it was a blast!
I hope to see them put in PS2 at some point, even if just for the lulz. Last edited by Electrofreak; 2012-07-06 at 09:55 PM. |
