Small idea for the cash shop:
I was very happy to see some camo examples in the gameplay and tweets, but I would not mind seeing some more modern camo patterns as well. Digital camo is cool and functional, for players and vehicles. Some nice examples over at this site: http://www.hyperstealth.com/patterns.html and a bit of history: http://www.uniteddynamics.com/dualtex/ Last edited by psychobilly; 2012-04-22 at 08:25 PM. |

If you read through the hyperstealth site there are some cool technologies. One of them I'd like to see in planetside 2 is the adaptive digital camo. It involves running a small current through special cloth to change its color, shade, and brightness depending on your terrain and the day/night cycle. The downside in real life is that you need a power supply, but for a MAX or a vehicle you already have one built in. Something like that shouldn't be in the cash shop obviously. He is also working on true cloaker technology (bending light, infrared, ultraviolet), but I think that is still 10-20 years off |

I thought a simple way of adaptive camo would be lots of cameras and mini displays that show what the camera is looking at and projects it on the opposite side of the suit to give a sense of invisibility. And to keep on topic, maybe allow a system that lets us create our own camo like Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, you could choose 3 patterns and change their colours separately.
