Engineers Building Firebases

Ok I see there are a few posts about Engineers pooing together to build certain resources such as a berm wall or something but how about building stategic Firebases to be used as spawn points or secure the lines. It could be a high end certification.

I think it might be a way to slow down the merry go round of capping bases by making you eliminate the Firebases in a region as well. I could see engineers building Firebases along a road or front line to keep attacking forces away form bases and take the fight to the field. The bases could be built with some sort of combined resource share amongst engineers.

If you have ever seen the documentary Restrepo , kind of like that. Gives a strategic advantage and the ability to react in an area as well. Plus it will force invading teams to root out the base before moving on.

There has been a fair amount of discussion about how to incorporate some larger-scale construction abilities for engineers, you might find something very similar to what you have in mind.

I too love the idea. I think it is going to happen but not like the video, already.

A friend and I are already considering both going engi and taking a sudnerer as a supply truck to setup minefields and turret ambushes.

Engie, my favorite class (next to infiltraitor).

The deployable turrets do not shield the Engie very much. Would like the shield to go all the way around me so it has to go down before I take damage. Right now these are useless for ambushes, unless they are not shooting back. Deployables are weak too. Hope they fix this class as a combat Engie, cuz right now he's only good for repairing and taking as a driver (to repair).

No..not going to fix it, maybe it will bring in some sickos from some sick keyword porn search and introduce them to PS2. More the merrier....even those into watching vids of engineers deficating together. Maybe they will name their outfit after it.

wow this is a great idea! this may be overpowered if one faction gets pushed back to their warpgate however because engies could just set up a giant wall of these to block any advance. also how would these be destroyed?
