With Talon Company we want to initially build a Light Assault Infantry group that focuses on rapid and air-assaults. We are looking for people who thoroughly enjoy the Light Assault class OR enjoy playing as Pilots or Aircrew. In either case you will need to want to play in a team. Which, presumably, is why you are browsing the Outfit forum in the first place, so let’s continue...


We are starting small and aiming high.
We want to build Talon to be a small but effective Outfit within the Terran Republic Faction. By using tight teamwork, proven tactics and out of the box thinking, we want to use the Light Assault class as it was imagined: Squads of specialized Soldiers striking at targets that Heavy Infantry groups cannot. The Light Assault class affords us the ability to go around, under or over obstacles and remove them from angles not expected.

We help our faction to succeed.
On the battlefield you will mostly find us away from the Zerg. Taking down defenses before an assault or securing strategically important, but oft forgotten, ancillary facilities and moving on when the Terran Zerg arrives. That is not to say that we don’t jump into the big fights and help take down central objectives and utilities smartly as well.

Mobility is vital.
Speed and ease of access allow us to stay mobile. Our preferred method of delivery is by Galaxy, either in an Air Assault capacity or a rapid, good old fashioned insertion. While we may make use of Sunderers brought in by other Outfits, you won’t find us trundling along in a bus - we’d rather walk.

Teamwork is everything.
Far from the lonewolf image that the Light Assault class is seen as by some, you will never find us running around solo. The abilities of the class allow us to move looser, quicker and more aggressively, but our emphasis on teamwork and drills remain in place.

We train by doing.
We don’t have entry tests or basic trainings. Instead we conduct short focus-on-topic sessions lasting around 30 minutes in which we go over the methods and tactics we use. This is then followed up by putting those into practice in a live environment.

We are very particular.
As covered above, we want to build a Light Assault Outfit that can conduct effective Raids and Air Assaults. To achieve this we are filling two types of roles. Light Assault or Aircrew. If you prefer playing as say Heavy Infantry or Infiltrator instead, this Outfit might not be for you. If on the other hand you are happily investing your cert points into different jetpacks or spend your free time spit-polishing your Galaxy or Liberator’s cockpit glass, you may want to seek us out.

So what are we looking for in you?
You want to play in a team because, for you, playing solo is boring. You enjoy using tactics grounded in the real world, adapted for the game and class. You can think on your feet when needed and are happy to follow orders from your Squad Leader. When you think of an assault you imagine the rest of your squad close with you, each member covering an angle and all working as one effective and cohesive unit. For you a jog from one base to another, using terrain for cover and employing fire and maneuver, flanking assaults and bounding is fun. You want to see small squads and accurate air support work together and succeed. You are proactive and willing to help refine something you believe in. You know the importance of good communication in a firefight and have a microphone you are willing to use. You are at least 18 and speak english with good level of fluency.

Below is a little bit of information about the three distinct air roles within Talon Company. We're actively looking for dedicated pilots or air crews - please pop on our teamspeak or visit our website for more information.

Galaxy Pilot The Galaxy Pilot’s primary role in the Outfit is to provide Air Transport for the Light Air Assault Platoon. This includes drops as well as precision ground-insertions and pick-ups from hot LZs. Talon Company is a fast moving Outfit and we need Galaxy Pilots to help us achieve this. Secondary to this is providing transport to the general public to locations in support of Talon Company’s objectives. The ideal Galaxy Pilot will be someone that enjoys doing Warpgate runs and wants to join an Outfit that will make proper use of the vehicle. They will however also be able to keep themselves busy when the Light Air Assault Platoon is on the ground. As with all of our Pilots, we want individuals that can act by themselves and show a certain level of independence, but will react quickly to requests put in from the LAAP.

Mosquito Pilot Air Dominance is a vital part in any military operation and this is also the case in PlanetSide2. As a Mosquito Pilot you will fly escort missions for our Galaxies and Liberators, Combat Air Patrols over the Light Air Assault Platoon’s area of operations and respond to Close Air Support requests. The ideal Mosquito Pilot will be someone that will enjoy mundane escort missions as much as intense, high-g dogfights and rocket strafing runs on pinpoint targets. He will be able to prioritize objectives, especially when that means not to chase down a kill if it means leaving the AO vulnerable.

Liberator Pilot and Crew The Liberator is a versatile machine if used in the right hands. Be it a tank killing machine, flying anti-air platform or fearsome gunship this aircraft requires pilots and crew that communicate effectively, look to master their gunnery skills and are thinking a few steps ahead of the enemy. As a force multiplier it needs both Pilot and Crew that are deeply team focused and willing to work closely with the ground forces providing Close Air Support and ISTAR.

Hi mr.Hutson! i very much enjoyed playing with you guys these last couple of days.

About me:

How much will i play: I will play atleast 2 - 3 evenings a week, or when the opportunity arises ( got a 7 week old daughter to take care of )
though this may seem like a negative thing, it really means i will be bringing my A-game when im on.
