Planetside 2 on a 32 bit system?!

Hello,
It seems to be a Problem to all users of a 32bit system that the game crashes after a short time of playing.

Is there a official statement to this bug? When will it be solved?

Does this fix really work save: http://forums.station.sony.com/ps2/i...of-play.52443/

I want to try it out, but dont want to make my system instable.

Sorry for bad english, i´m from germany.

greetings

The 3GB switch will not likely make your system unstable. It can always be turned back so there is little to fear in using it. The reason for all the disclaimers is because systems where the OS is running memory intensive system processes can cause the OS to run out of memory, but as stated this is not typical.

Unfortunately, for some AMD Radeon users such as myself, PlanetSide won't even launch with the 3GB switch active. For some reason PS2 detects the video card as having insufficient memory and will not launch the game. Hopefully the developers will implement a solution.

Strange thing:
It works well on my VS Character on the server Cobalt, but when i try to play with my NC Character on Mallory, the game crashes when it loads. This happened before i tried this fix, too. But i thougt this is a Problem by my Computer. Is there a Problem with Mallory?

It's probably a broken texture or game file that is accessed when you play NC but not VS.

I'd load the Launchpad, click the little wrench icon on the bottom left, and select the option to Validate Game Assets.

This should take some time but it should find any damaged game files which would cause it to crash when you play NC.
