I'm looking to get an addon or two or maybe a new gun, for my vanu medic. Maybe something to tighten things up, and reduce the recoil. My shot is all over the place, unless I pull down on the mouse while firing, to try to compensate. Is that what you guys do? If I don't do that, it really jumps around. Any ideas for addons or a new gun would be appreciated.

Hah, you must be kinda new to first person shooters :P well yeah you need to control the recoil by pulling down on the mouse. Luckily for you, you're a Vanu player so your weapons are, right now, considerably "overpowered" and have very tight spread, low recoil, and high damage.
So, first I would recommend you shoot at a wall at your faction's warpgate without attempting to control recoil. Look at the bullet hole patterns and pull your mouse in the opposite direction of where your recoil goes until you can keep a consistently tight spread. If you're still not satisfied with your results, the foregrip can reduce your side-to-side, or horizontal, recoil, and the compensator can reduce your upwards, or vertical, recoil. Good luck! |

Thanks. I used to play counterstrike, but it's been years. I'll look at those two addons.
Any idea why my game keep crashing? Every 45 minutes or so, it just crashes. Doesn't need to be a big battle, or anything. I was in a sunderer and we were just riding a minute ago, and crash. My cpu is running at about 42c, so i dont think its that. Not sure about my gpu. Its an hd 6670, but everything is set to medium, and its not laggy, so i dont think its bogging it down so much it crashes. Last edited by luvthesnapper; 2012-12-29 at 09:02 PM. |

Ah, counterstrike miss the simple fragging of games like that. It's become so much more advanced and complicated now, it can be overwhelming sometimes.
The crashing issue is not specific to you; it is happening to many people, including me. It's good that you mentioned you were riding in a sunderer because people have suggested that the crashes may be caused by some exploit or bug that has to do with sunderers. Anyway, apparently the crash you are experiencing happens to everyone in a certain hex at the time of the alleged sunderer bug, so you're definitely not alone. I'm sure the development team will get that ironed out pretty quickly. Last edited by Palerion; 2012-12-29 at 09:15 PM. |

I know what you mean. It's been so long, I can't fly. I used to play battlefield 2142 also, and not bragging, but I was decent pilot. I can't fly with you behind the wheel, in this game. I forgot all my old bindings I used to use in other games, and just can't get right again.
Why can't you switch servers, also? Or can you, and I don't know how. I'd like to see what all those brits are up to.. Last edited by luvthesnapper; 2012-12-29 at 09:26 PM. |

Hah, yeah I know, flying is really hard on this game. I haven't gotten the hang of it either, but there are some threads to help guide aspiring pilots. And you can't "switch" servers, per-say, but you can create a new character on a new server. When you create a character it is specifically assigned to a certain server in order to give that server a tightly bound community of sorts, so people don't pop in and out from server to server.

The lack of vanu recoil tales are greatly exaggerated.
If you hipfire alot you are going to want to get the laser sight to tighten the recoil bloom (the crosshairs expanding as you fire) or the forward grip and i beleive that some medic guns have the advanced forward grip so shoot for that if the vertical climb when you fire is too much to control. If the recoil is still too much get a compensator, that will also reduce the vertical climb, other then that its your preference of scope and your gun is fully kitted out. Now for weapon choice, the hv45 is probably the most solid all round medic gun imho but trial a few see which meshes best with your playstyle then work on getting the addons after you unlock it. I will clarify laser sight and forward grip both occupy the same slot so it is one or the other. Last edited by LoliLoveFart; 2012-12-30 at 06:52 AM. |
