Until someone modifies their client to not produce those effects on their screen.
Dark nights would be cool IF the 27th century military hadn't seemingly forgot about the night-vision goggles worn by our lowly 21st century military. |

I agree that it looked and felt amazing when it actually got dark durring beta and would love to see it return. Maybe when they bring in clouds and weather it will help make it darker durring the daytime and super dark at night.

What would be cool with the addition of clouds would be hiding your lib or gal in the clouds on your way to a base so the mossies and reavers can't spot you so easily some proper stealth like the old phantasm they were ace

a lot of people complained that it was to dark to fight in and everyone one would be requried to use NV or IR just to get around

To bad the lightning is a bit suck in this engine. Wished they had as good as Frostbite 2 or better lightning. |

It was stupid but only because there was never a reason to have one in BF3. Right now it doesn't get dark enough to have a need for one and that goes for headlights on vehicles as well.
It would be even cooler if you could kill the lighting inside of bases at night and really make flashlights effective. Of course that would mean having a gen that kills the power to the entire base which is a whole different conversation entirely . |

I'm LOVING all of these amazing opinions. anyone want to post a link on the official forums so they can see how bad we want it back? xD But honestly, those of you who don't like it obviously don't see the realism and tactical advantages and disadvantages it could bring. It was almost like playing a whole other game entirely. Oh and you most likely didn't play in the beta either, so please, look up videos on YouTube of the night fights back in beta, THEN come back to this thread ^_^

You are making a big deal about something unique that was tested in beta and rejected because so many people disliked it(and had potential unfairness to casuals). Driving this to the top of the forum over and over when their are so many obvious issues actually driving away players just diminishes this forum. This is not an obvious improvement that would help a modest number of players and hurt no one(like color blind mode.) Nor is it a wide rangeing change the majority of the player base wants addressed(like base defense and air superiority) Rather this is change that a small number people want that could potentially drive away even more casual players. If you want to ask for a future continent to have extra dark nights or something like that it would make much more sense.
