Phoenix is great for:
Strafing Magriders Deployed Sundies Low and slow flying aircraft Taking out weapon emplacements (Engie turrets, base guns) MAXs Anything else should typically be destroyed with any of the other AV guns though. But I really stress the anti-air part only because you can deliver a hit to ESF without letting them know a guided rocket is flying at them, unlike other rockets which would alert the pilot of a lock-on. |

I would add:
SMOKING TANKS HIDING IN THE HILLS. Smoke is a great way to identify those and to steer Phoenix there. BTW, how many Phoenix rockets you need to kill a MAX? I was successful hitting MAXes with Phoenix but not s much with killing them. |

I love it. Simple as that. It has more flexibility for situations I find myself in: quite often I C4 a Sundered but need that one rocket to finish the job, and the Phoenix can do it; there's a Lightning running away from my platoon, and I hunt him down; there's a Mosquito strafing my platoon, so I smash a rocket into it's cockpit; it's the only rocket that can really hit the weak spot on aircraft effectively, which is the cockpit. On top of all that, there's the fear factor: I was talking to a TR player from Briggs (I play NC on Helios) who was on his NC alt, and when my ally fired his Phoenix near him, he freaked out a little bit. No joke. They really scare anyone in the air, because you never know when you will get hit by it, due to no lock-on warning.

That may be what i'm thinking of then. I'll run some tests later today. It seemed like hitting the cockpit did more damage. On the note of MAX's , I believe they can take down over half of a MAX's health, but don't quote me on that. I shot an ally (he wanted me to) in his MAX suit to see how much damage it did, and if I remember right it took around half of his health away, maybe a little more. I know for a fact I shot a VS MAX the other day that was on a biolab platform who had just over a quarter life left and killed him, so I would say three at the most, maybe two.
