I decided to help steer SOE in the right direction
Had some success at Reddit, decided to post it here as well. This is by no means a hard guideline, just a concept to nudge SOE into what I feel TR should sound like. Last edited by SturmovikDrakon; 2013-08-06 at 07:32 PM. |

Although I don't approve for all sound changes, at least this video does a good job of demonstrating of how totally more badass this game would feel with better gun sounds.
I actually find myself avoiding equipping TR carbines and snipers because they feel so incredibly weak. |

I agree, carbines and sniper rifles are the biggest offenders in the TR arsenal. I know people say this a lot, but the Lynx actually does sound like an airsoft gun, while the RAMS doesn't reflect the fact that it's a .50 cal in the model nor sound effect. |

SOE does need to take the sounds up a notch. DICE is known for their epic sounding warfare. That is one of the things missing in Planetside 2 that would just make the game FEEL better. Nice job on the vid. I like the MCG and Vulcan being ripped from the stationary Gatling guns off the helicopters.

can't but approve your choice of BC2 style weapon sounds Strum they have for want of a better term "balls" if you know what I mean and obviously you do
One of my original threads on these forums so long a go was asking the dev's when they were creating the weapons was not just to have them look good and feel good but also to sound the part to, yet everytime I hear the TR guns they sound flat. The VS also suffered from this, the pew pew instead of the bang bang effects.
