Someone translate that.
Something I have noticed more of in the last week are high-end lib pilots out on display. Lots of SURPRISE, DALTON! and weaving in and out of the legs of tech plants. So, on balance, I still think the SG needs some velocity love, but I am happy to be seeing some entertaining new stuff in the air. |

Actually I take back things being 20 times better.
Things are 20 times better for TR, with their strikers and vulcans and extra fast ESFs with A2Am they simply own all the airspace. It's actually rediculous how skewed the air game is for TR now. I wish they still released the data. I bet there are 40% more mossies then ESFs in the air on average - which makes it impossible to fight the TR in the air since it just snowballs, especially with A2Am. There is no reason why TR should have the Striker the way it is now, and it completely breaks the air game in favor of TR. Unequivequably, it's not even close anymore on Connery durring prime time. Also A2Am with render range means mossy swarms in zerg balls get invisible god mode cloaking fields they have dynamically activated based on there position inside the zerg ball where they can lock on and lob A2Am - which is a completely assinine mechanic (granted this is true for all factions, but since TR air zergs grow exponentially faster due to striker spam it's much more noticeable coming from TR). |

Back when AA MAXes cleared everyone's air you didn't notice as much, but now it's just insane. Huge mossy swarms everywhere and they are impossible to engage now with A2Am. Even small engagements are impossible because every TR heavy has a stryker so engaging even 2 mossys over TR airspace is an instant death sentence (and you don't even konw if the the lock is A2A or The goddamn striker!). Completely ruined the game for me really. I used to be able to lone wolf fly and hunt air. I did this the entire time I have played this game, but TR's swarms have created a situation where everyone else now swarms so you can not find any air engagements of your own without your own air wing. The game I have been playing this whole time is over, and it sucks from my perspective. Overall I suppose it's just me complaining about the game going to more team oriented gameplay, so I'll just except it and check back in when the ESF update comes. But it's strange, for the first week the AA MAX nerf seemed glorious, but now there are just too many enemy ESFs to do my thing and it has simply removed the game I enjoyed. So it goes, time to move on I guess. Just crazy though to see the game I played just end with a wimper. I do hope the rest of you enjoy what it has become, but my game that I enjoyed is just gone, pure and simple. Last edited by phungus; 2013-06-28 at 02:54 AM. |

I'd go as far as to say that the Striker should require active lock on at all times and even a millisecond break of the lock on would cause the missiles to "go dumb". That way, its firepower would remain but it would actually take skill to use, which should be the case for all powerful weapons. |

I would love to have a live AT4 or LAW to fire though, that would be hella fun and worth the tax stamp. Again, If you know how to properly use something and you don't do anything retarded with it, there is nothing to worry about. I have had firearms available to me since I was 5 years old (knew where my dad kept the gun safe key and he has had quite a few firearms) however he tought me how to use them, use them safly and that they are not toys so I have always respected the gun. Now I am 23 and I have never shot anything I did not intend to shoot. Never hurt anyone and I never plan on it (although if you break into my house, I do have a loaded 92FS ready and Will shoot to defend myself). Pic or part of my collection There really is no worry to liability as long as your not stupid, but I digress, back to flying! Last edited by SolLeks; 2013-06-28 at 11:44 AM. |

They should have held off on nerfing bursters until after the ESF update. All they've done shoved the air versus ground imbalance back on to air.
More specialized ESFs (coming in the ESF update) will reduce the amount of rocket podders and balance out this burster change. |

I think this is a difference in perspective. I'm 35, own a number of NFA pieces - some of which I can't even keep at my primary residence due to state restrictions trumping - and still wouldn't keep live ordinance anywhere near my family. Precisely because shrimps like 5-year-old SolLeks know how to find keys.
I spent most of my youth not giving a shit. Life's very different when you have a lot to lose. But that's not why we're here. Let's talk about the Striker. I seem to recall that the world was literally going to end when the Annihilator was launched - the combined nerd rage in the forums could de-orbit a small moon. It was too powerful, too ubiquitous, and broke the game in groups. Or so I was told - I actually didn't care too much. You could still flare off the first volley from a Anni nest and get a good Zeph clip into them before having to jet. The Striker is ostensibly worse, and it's only available to one faction. Now, a few things are working against us here - newly latticed Indar is hell on the SE warpgate where we currently live. The entire southern expanse is exposed to Striker fire from the ridgeline, and getting armor up there is much harder with the roads now cut off. If TR have pushed past the Skydock, VS effectively doesn't fly Tawrich. Is this a big deal? Yes and no. I'm actually OK with TR being the dominant AA powerhouse, just as I was OK with NC being the undisputed kings of MAX CQC. What's missing is any sort of understanding of the developer vision here - is it supposed to be this way? If so, what do they consider the counterbalance elsewhere? If not, are they paying attention? Also, I know you're going to hate this, but I think a four-pack of NS SAMs on the Skyguard as a second weapon would be better than upping the velocity again, if I had my way. edit: dude, that mortar is killer. Nice. Last edited by maradine; 2013-06-28 at 01:20 PM. |

If they make some kind of lightning fast interceptor ESF with even better machine guns...infantry will suffer even more. |
