I don't know how many of you are old enough to remember puzzle-games like Myst or Riven (the latter being the source of my nom de gamenerd), but they had the same kind of ambient, unobtrusive, evocative musical scores. Anybody in the industry can bang out The Soaring Orchestral Score or The Mighty Guitar Riff, and after you've heard them ten times they set your teeth on edge. Not so with the work of Don Ferrone. It's in the travel/environmental themes that his genuine genius shines through, IMHO. Last edited by Rivenshield; 2012-06-30 at 03:34 AM. |

I listen to the NC music and the first thing I think about is Dragon's Dogma O.o Then I think about old school games, like the first starcraft. It's a nice style though, kinda like it.
The vanu's sounds kinda like Omega station from Me2. |

i really hope that NC music isn't final. the combination of instruments and notes are so wrong. like a hillbilly twang instrumental playing over some potentially good rock.

One of the channels that i'm subscribed too just uploaded what appears to be an unfinished version of the Planetside 2 soundtrack.
http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list...2&feature=plcp I'm sorry if this is a stupid question or if this has already been posted. I'm new here. But is the soundtrack out already? That said, I really like the Vanu music. |

Some resourceful soul ripped the mp3's off a demo box at E3, and there are various torrents of it available. Higby seems largely okay with it... it's only placeholder/demo music after all.... but you'll hafta find the torrent yourself.
That said, Don Ferrone's demo tunes beat the hell out of 90% of the finished stuff you'll hear in any game, anywhere. As far as I'm concerned Jeremy Soule is the only competition he's got. |

This is a bit low quality since it is converted from the AMIGA format, it sounds better from an AMIGA since a lot of the bass is gone here, but the music is still stellar, interesting how much you can get out of a couple of floppy disks: (Lotus turbo challenge 2 is a racing game while turrican 2 is a shootemup/platformer) Edit: This sounds a lot like the vanu music as well: So much good turrican music!
