I once jacked an enemy AMS, not many people spawning, none noticed me. Well, that is... until i burst off the hill like that semi in T2 and crushed all of them. They didn't like that, one infil stopped an entire base assault.

as an infiltrator, my main target is enemy AMses. sooooo many people set up an AMS, maybe set up some light defenses, then just leave it alone. by hacking an enemy AMS you've simultaneously denied the enemy the ability to spawn there (possibley stalling/halting the entire enemy offensive) and given your side an extra spawn, sometimes in very strategically valuable areas.
in bases I try to play with the enemies minds/background abilities.combat engineer is your friend. pull out your knife, whack the enemy generator once or twice, run like hell. wash, rinse, repeat. they'll either start to ignore it totally allowing you to atually destroy it (you did bring your combat engineer ACE's right?) or steadfastly defend it. if they defend it, leave the area. an enemy MAX defending the gens is an enemy MAX not defending the CC. rather unfortunately, one infiltrator cannot carry enough boomers to take out a gen alone. you'll need to find an out-of-the-way inventory station to hack a few times and restock on boomers. once I've decided to move on from the gens the enemy inv terminals are the next highest priority. it's amazing how few people have a repair gun in their lockers. if you can take out the inv stations your forces can maraude their way through a bunch of suppressor wearing lightly armored pansies with no MAX suits, and I've seen it stay that way for the rest of an entire battle. towers are REALLY easy to do this in if you can get a quick bit of luck and not get butt-fucked by the spawn-and-see-infiltrators-clear-as-day bug. basically, an infiltrator is a background threat to everything. look at your enemy, try to spot a weakness, and assault their capabilities as an entire force, not as a single soldier. it can be used effectively as an assassin, but I think that's a waste of potential. why kill an enemy once when you can kill his ability to rearm, or get a vehicle, or even spawn totally?

I love people who stop to repair. They whip out their little gun, I run up, blast them, take their vehicle, and proceed to run over their buddies with it. That's a fun thing to do, pity the TR and VS never use anything but their Tanks, and the gunner always stays in. The Magmower drivers don't care about whether they die, they just want mow down a few dozen people first.

The gun katas. Through analysis of thousands of recorded gunfights, the Cleric has determined that the geometric distribution of antagonists in any gun battle is a statistically predictable element. The gun kata treats the gun as a total weapon, each fluid position representing a maximum kill zone, inflicting maximum damage on the maximum number of opponents while keeping the defender clear of the statistically traditional trajectories of return fire. By the rote mastery of this art, your firing efficiency will rise by no less than 120%. The difference of a 63% increase to lethal proficiency makes the master of the gun katas an adversary not to be taken lightly. |

I love sneaking ahead to point out an Orbital strike! I tell my CO where to get the most tanks/infantry and all of a sudden BOOM! Their entire force is gone! I ROFL whenever I see that. Plus it's also great fun to hack a base that has no defense.
HART to a obscure base that isn't locked VIA a gateway and steal the sucker! They some scrambling and sh|t! I once hacked a base that wasn't defended by anything and it led to a Continent lock!

A good use of an stealther (as used against me), is to kill engineers as they repair turrets on towers/bases that are being assaulted.
However this can be somewhat countered by reparing everythig in 3rd person view. Can still see the status bar and anything moving behind you. |
