I totally agree that SoE needs to do some major ad campaigns during these next few months. Alot of people I talk to about playing PS either don't initially know what it is, or have just heard the name thrown around.

74. NHL 2003... why the hell is there a NHL game in a top anything? and 47. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 ? who the hell compiled this list? there are about 90 games on that list that I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot stick. Why is Halo on there but not Halo 2? Damn crackhead bastards. IGN users need to lay off the meth and only vote for games that have the chance to be played by more than 3 people worldwide.

There are alot of people who like sports games(I'm not one of them) and Need for speed 2 is a good 2 player race game for people who like race games. Don't forget not everyone's like you. Stop being so ethnocentric.

I also thoroughly enjoy sports game, but NHL 2003 is absolutely the most horribly unrealistic hockey game I have ever played. The fact that 2003 made that list rather than 2k3 shows how uninformed alot of hockey gamers are. I am an EA whore myself, and love Madden and NCAA 2003, but I will never buy another hockey game from EA.

All sports games are unrealistic..I've played a few and tehy're really stupid. In hockey games it's jsut who can hit the most and then carry the puck to the net...

It's not about games that I like or dislike but those games frankly are not good. Have you seen a hockey game awarded game of the year by anyone?

I Like sports games, nothing wrong with them but those games are pretty much crap. If you're going to look forward to a game why not look forward to a good one? Aside from games like madden and a couple of the ncaa football/basketball games, sports games have been lacking in the great game department but excelling in the sucking ass department.

That list was probably filled in by sub par games because there are what like 10-20 games that people look forward to on PC a year?

I somewhat agree. I followed Shadowbane for almost three years, until they finally went to beta and got into the second round. Right from the get go they had a fanbase, much like planetside, and from there the community kept growing and growing. However this was not because of massive spending on Wolfpack's behalf it was all the community's doing. Website after website went up singin gthe praises of a game that hadn't even made it to it's alpha stage yet. They had an INCREDIBLY active forum, especially the DEV board....something that Planetside was lacking for sometime....Most of all there was the promise of BETA.

What am I saying? We need more sites like this, we have to spew Planetside propaganda wherever we go, hell I spent about a month running around Everquest shouting "SHADOWBANE IS COMING, SHADOWBANE IS COMING!"

Whip people into a frenzy, get them hyped, have a regualr update that provides the community with ANYTHING Planetside (screenshots, interviews, assign a few Internet public relations guys to get media out there....there no reason that this game can't be no.1

Oh and by the way...Wolf pack would find polls like this and link the community to them, why do you think Shadowbane was in the top last year?

The only game I'm buying is this one. I can't see how it will fail...If the servers are strong, and the game is balanced then the superior graphics of DIII will be nothing more than eye candy.

I kinda agree with you kurzgan. Communities spread a lot of time because word of mouth and fanbase advertising of sites. As an active cs player I have talked about planetside to many many people in the cs community. Its something that some of them are going to get and others just won't. (cs geeks that think they can get somewhere in life with the game )


If that list was accurate, they say they did on fan base but hhmmm. anyways cs:cz wouldn't be that high. Popularity is going down and more people are looking for the future of gaming. Half the reason people still play cs is because of the clans/leagues that they are in. Including myself. Just a thought from me.
