>>You sir are an idiot!<<
Why? Mobile spawn point and mobile equipment terminal, not to mention you can matrix to it. With just a bit of coordination this thing can transport an entire outfit across a continent easily. It's also the best single-man transport when going to enemy territory, given the fact that if you drive there with say a harasser, and you die - you have to take the entire trip again, whereas with an AMS, you can just spawn 100 meters from where you died and be good to go. As it is now, there are usually as many AMS's as there are combat vehicles (with a single exception in the reaver) in a lot of the long-lasting base fights. It seems rather lame to me. That a truck with this much potential is as cheap as a motorbike with a forward mounted machine gun. |

>>I've gotten used to the dissapointment of having to spawn halfway across the map because one single person didn't think of bringing up an AMS.<<
I must just be in a very AMS-fanatical outfit ... we usually have 3~5 in every 10-man squad, with three of those squads working together. Often cut down on it a bit, simply just because we'll end up parking too many around the enemy base for them to find and hack. I'd really like to see the AMS get a lot more expensive; right now the game quite often is "find the AMS". But well, the whole LLU thing might just change overall gameplay enough to change this. |

It should be 2 points for the ATV cert; you should be able to use both the Wraith and the Basilisk.
If you're an infil, you'd probably use the Wraith. If you're not an infil, you'd probably use the Basilisk. So I really wanna know why they would charge 3 points to get 2 vehicles out of the deal, when each person would probalby only use one over the other almost every single time. It'd be nice to keep those certs to spend on something else more interesting. Must suck to be a BR4 with little to no certs to spend, but when he/she is in a jam, they'd probably have to walk to the next base because they don't have points to spare. Basilisk and Wraith should only be 1 point each. If SOE actually thinks they're any good for combat, they're smoking crack. It only makes it harder on new people who have too few cert points to spend, and thus potentially costs them subscribers. |

*BUMP*
The ATV cert finally made it to the live servers and after a day, they changed it to a 2 point cert. Only tried these in VR training but makes a good tranport for my sniper when no one else from my outfit are on. Thanks Devs for listening to the people.

Actually, with th ATV cert, you don't get 2 vehicles. You get 3. Basalisk, Wraith and ANT. I actually see quite a few ATV's running around, trying to run people over, or trying to be invisible. For a cloaker, a Wraith is extremely important to get where you want to get without being seen too easily.
I can understand why people would want to drive a big vehicle all over the place, because of the added protection, but ME, I don't like to be a big target. Most of my kills are gotten by being a small target, and NOT being noticed, or simply ignored. I couldn't drive across an enemy's base openings in a Mag, and get away scot free. As it is, this morning, on Amerish, I had to run across said base opening. Out flew a Reaver, Liberator, and 2 Mosqs, and out drove a Lighting and a Sunderer. Had I been a Mag, I might have tried to attack, and probably died for it. But as it was, I simply hid, and cursed for not having enough weaponry, or Squad members with me. Incidently, I was trying to get to an enemy tower to hack it. So that said, having, say a Basalisk might have made my trip faster, and I wouldn't have been such a big target. But seeing as I don't drive much anywhere, spending the certs for that isn't cost worthy for me, except that I COULD ride one in my Reinforced Anti Vehicle gear. You might say I could do the same with the Harasser, or the Buggy, but those are still big friggin targets, when your alone, and in enemy territory. Flammey - Emerald "HEY! Who painted this target on my Mag?" |
