Why? Because your father touched your life significantly. Johnny Cash touched the lives of many Americans in a significant way. The random Africans you brought up did not. It has nothing to do with one life being more valulable than another. I has to do with the effect someone has on your life.

If Nelson Mandella died tommorow, I am sure he would get his own thread.
