Braces

I had braces from sixth grade until ninth. Got them off and got a sweet-ass retainer, it was a clear, thin plastic mouthguard-typed thing. Couldn't even tell I had it on. Then one day, I put it in my pocket and forgot to take it out, and my mom put my pants in the laundry, and the retainer broke. My orthodontist gave me a crappy replacement and I never wore it, and now my bottom teeth are perfectly snaggled and my top row of teeth aren't all the same length anymore. Oh well!

yea i never wore my retainer but fuck that, after my jaw surgery last year none of htat stuff matterd. so take that braces/retainer and all the money that went with it!

I had braces 3 years ago, man did it suck. I remeber one time they were tightened way to much to the point where I intentionally broke a few off to make the pain stop. Its mostly because they kept me up for 48 hours out of pain and couldn't eat anything that lead me to do it. I stopped wearing my retainers, man those were a hassle. My teath aren't exactly perfect now but they're good enough.

Still have mine ... It's been about 5 years iirc. I've had braces, 2 herbst appliances, several retainers, rubberbands, just alot of shit. The worst had to be the herbst appliance, if you've ever had one you would know what I mean. They put huge metal telescoping rods in your mouth(almost look like car shocks) so that they can get rid of your overbite. The first doctor I had used a huge one, but the second time I had it it was alot smaller because the guy had some patent or what have you.

I'm supposed to get mine off in about a month or two and finally be done. Right now I'm supposed to wear 3 different rubberbands, all going different ways and I can't remember for shit which ones go where so I don't wear those.

I had braces on the top for about a year. Wore my retainer all the time. Damn that thing was a bitch. Hurt more then the braces.

I was supposed to get another full set of braces, but the dentist said that I was good, and it wasnt worth it. Yay.

Yeah what's the deal with retainers? I've heard you wear em for a few months, and then I've heard that some people wear them forever. If it's the latter, then screw that.

Anyway I currently have this big metal thing on the roof of my mouth (maybe that herbst thing because I know it's for overbite), I'm supposed to be wearing 3 rubber bands, and I have two powerchains as well as some new type of wire. I actually stayed home the day after I got em tightened because I couldn't think with all the pain. Good news is I get em off in a month or two (at latest August).

Yeah, but aren't they for holding your teeth in theh places they were moved by the braces? If that's what they are for, then it seems like you'd have to wear it forever. Oh well, I guess I'll ask my ortho.

I need braces, my bottem teath are shit. The top is all about perfect besides for the two front teath, one tooth is alittle over the other one.

Bah i jsut planely need to go to the dentist, I got cavities(sp) all over the place, i haven't eated candy since....halloween.... I still got easter candy sitting in the fridge.....and its the good kind.....

I Never had braces ..i could use them to strighten out a few teeth ..my parents couldent afford them :P

I had them for 6 months in the 3rd-4th grade, it fucking sucked. Braces mu8st die.

I had braces for about year and a half, they fucking sucked. Got them off a year ago, wore my retainer for about two days before i decided it was worse. Teeth are still fine, not as good as they looked when i got the fucking things off but nothing major wrong with them.
