WoW Enlists Radical Name Rules

Unfortunatly, they only practice that policy if someone reports the name.

Old news, but I still love it, Im so sick of playing games with XxXSEPHIROTHXxX and korn389 and superkid2002, I want to kill people who make name like that. Now I can, I report anyone with gibberish in their name, or with stupid names like Cl, Tm, Td, Azn(insert name here) and actually SEE THEIR NAME CHANGE WITHIN A DAY, I love the power to ruin the fucktards day.

dude I think people should be able to have a name like "Roxx0ryourn00b" or "saerant slaughter" or "Ilikemeat" because those name are awesome

And no these rules havent been around for awhile, notice at the top of the picture it states the policy has changed? My sister was forced to look at it the second she logged on.

I've seen "DarthVador", and groaned. The LOTR inspired names annoy me. The "real world names, even worse.

This is a game, games have rules. One of those rules is names. They have to be tasteful, original and not annoying. If oyu cannot have fun unless you are named "xKxIxLxLxYxOxUx" or p0wnz3Rdy0u or some other idiocy.. don't play.

Besides, people with idiotic names like that.. never get in my groups.

My MMO name for the longest times was Velderia or Billard. Now it Vard

And yeah hes right people being allowed to have simple non offensive names is very different then allowing them to fucking hack the game, and this is the reason we have role-playing servers, those policies should only apply to them.

You know, if I werent so damn lazy I'd go and fetch you the list of naming rules for most MMO's and you'd be suprised how wrong you are once again.

Hell Anarchy online has them! I made a badly named character just to see if AO had changed and when I logged in for the second time, I was face to face with a message telling me to reply with a choice of name in the next 24 hours or else have my character name be changed for good to something of their choice.

A guy I knew got his character deleted in SW:G because of his name...

Fact is, the game has rules deal with it or shut the fuck up about it. If you can't come up with a simple arrangement of letters to make a worthy name then you don't deserve to play...

SWG didn't have that stringent of a naming policy, just no names from the Star Wars Universe. (Which wasn't a bad idea, but I couldn't call my character "ChewyLSB", even though the character's name is FREAKING CHEWIE)

Explain then why my friend that played those damned fish (don't remember the name) had named his character SushiPlate and got asked to reply to the GM's tell with a new name or else his new character name would be randomized.

I could have swore FFXI had the same policy maybe I was wrong, but the only thing I see wrong with that is people that keep the same name throughout all there games may have to pick an entirley new one, but for the VEGETAXXSUPERNEOPS2SUXZ0RZFAN1011011200 people that plague every other game, it is kinda nice.
